The Billy Moore Days carnival and parade are just around the corner, and you won’t want to miss a single second! Step back into Avondale’s rich history and celebrate with us all weekend long.

It’s FOUR days of carnival rides (hang on tight!), games (eyes on the prize), delicious street food (say less, we’re already there), and live entertainment, music and showcases. It’s a party celebrating our city and you’re invited!

Don’t forget the very special Billy Moore Days Parade, where you’ll see Avondale’s culture and pride on full display with colorful floats, marching bands, dance groups, local businesses and community groups!

As Avondale celebrates 80 years as a City, we are proud to celebrate the people, places, and traditions that make our community special. In 1978, Avondale held its 25th Annual Billy Moore Days festival. Maricopa County Library Media Services recorded parts of the event, including the late O.K. Fulton, legendary teacher, coach and school administrator from Agua Fria Union High School, sharing the story of Billy Moore, Avondale’s founder.

Exciting news! The shovels have hit the dirt and Embassy Suites by Hilton by Hilton has officially broken ground in City of Avondale ! 🪏🎉🏨 A monumental $80 million investment developed by Whitten Development, this six-story hotel will offer 180 suites, more than 10,000 square feet of meeting and conference space, and a beautiful rooftop bar overlooking the scenic Estrella Mountains. Located at The BLVD, the Embassy Suites will anchor the northern end of the Park Avenue District, where new restaurants and retail will soon be located!

With the amenities and event space this hotel will bring, we look forward to welcoming future business and leisure travelers, while offering the West Valley and Avondale residents a place to play and stay and an event space to celebrate life’s most special milestones.

The project is expected to be completed by Spring 2028. Stay tuned for more!

Hispanic Heritage Month has officially started AND it’s Mexican Independence Day! 🇲🇽 What better way to celebrate than by visiting locally-owned hotspot, Poca Madre!

Located at The BLVD, they not only serve up delicious and authentic flavors, but they do so in style. Try the “parrillada para dos”, a feast for two served on a miniature tabletop grill complete with four proteins, 2 sides and guacamole and salsa for good measure.
