Our Story
Cross Cultural Journeys provides socially responsible travel for individuals and organizations interested in global awareness, indigenous wisdoms and societies at the crossroads.
CCJ Gives Back
A portion of the fees we charge for every CCJ trip goes to our sister organization, Cross Cultural Journeys Foundation (a nonprofit 501c3 ) to support nonprofit charitable programs in the places we visit. CCJF has ongoing programs supporting scholarships for schools in India, an after-school environmental education program in Guatemala, rebuilding earthquake-damaged schools in Nepal, a women's tea cooperative in Ethiopia, and donating medical supplies, musical equipment, and soccer gear in Cuba. For a recent trip to Iceland, we supported a local reforestation program to offset our travelers’ carbon emissions.
CCJ Strategic Partnerships
Many of our journeys are customized for a specific group or organization. All of our partner organizations are carefully selected to make sure they are aligned with CCJ and CCJF’s mission and values.
Travelers Against Plastics Cross Cultural Journeys is part of a worldwide effort to end the use of single plastics when we travel, and a proud member of Travelers Against Plastic. We encourage you to visit their resources page to inform yourself about how you can stay healthy on your journey, while also protecting our environment and not leaving behind a trail of plastic bottles.
