This week we gathered once again at Domaine Drouhin / Roserock Vineyard for an Open Day for the ongoing Oregon Rootstock Trial conducted by Oregon State University and cooperative, Results Partners. The trial is focused on the performance of Pinot Noir 777 that were planted on 18 different rootstocks in 2021 within Jory soils. Each year, the community is invited to the test block to observe the variations among the rootstocks and during this week’s event, OSU collected new leaf samples to evaluate nutritional differences and assess leaf water potential.
Some notable findings from the three year report assessment has highlighted significant differences in potassium uptake among the various rootstocks, as well as variations in water stress levels. Further analysis of the data from vine to fruit continues and year two of the project will ensue into 2026. For further insights and detailed records, we encourage you to review the Annual Report for this trial from OSU. https://tr.ee/qvsj9ZkVzX
