Today is World Turtle Day, an international event that highlights the plight of turtles and tortoises across the globe.

It makes me think back to my time in wonderful Costa Rica, where I did some voluntary work on the Pacific coast monitoring the fabulous Leatherback sea turtle. I was also very lucky to be there for a spectacular arribada where olive ridley sea turtles arrive for mass synchronised nesting, an incredible sight I will never forget.

The great British tradition of a village fete, dog show with the Golden Oldies sponsored by , maypole, Pimm’s stall (run by me with Sangria too!), tug of war, cakes, such a wonderful event for our local school in Broughton, Hampshire. The raffle went down well including my travel hamper prize. Luckily the rain held off until we were done, phew!

The UK Foreign Office (FCDO) has updated its advice for Greece after authorities announced a relaxation of the new EU Entry/Exit System (EES) rules for visitors.

The FCDO update says: “Greek authorities have indicated that they will not collect biometric data (fingerprints and photos) for UK travellers as part of EES.

Live from Sepilok....
