With all the talk about norovirus and “outbreaks” lately, it’s easy to assume every cruise ship is basically a floating petri dish. 😂 But the CDC data tells a more interesting story.

Cruise ships under the CDC’s Vessel Sanitation Program are inspected twice a year, and those inspections are unannounced. Ships receive a score, with 86 or higher considered acceptable and anything below 85 failing.

And here’s the part that might surprise you: 50 cruise ships scored a perfect 100 over the past year. There was just one failing inspection during that period. 👀

Yes, outbreaks happen. But they are not the norm, and cruise lines have strict sanitation standards for food service, pools, water systems, cleaning and illness prevention.

Of course, we passengers have a job too: 𝐖𝐀𝐒𝐇. 𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐑. 𝐇𝐀𝐍𝐃𝐒. 😂🧼

𝐈𝐟 𝐒𝐭. 𝐕𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭 & 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐥 𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭, 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐞!

Delta is ending its nonstop service to St. Vincent and the Grenadines next month, less than a year after launching the route. And right now, there are no plans to bring the service back. 😳

That doesn’t mean you can’t get to St. Vincent. It just means travelers may need to look at different airlines, connections or routing options.

This is a good reminder that airline schedules can change quickly, especially with Caribbean routes. If you’ve already booked, don’t panic! Just make sure you’re checking your itinerary and any schedule changes before your trip.

Airport lounges aren’t just about free snacks anymore… 👀

A new J.D. Power study found that travelers are looking at much more than the food and drinks when deciding whether a lounge is actually worth it.

The biggest factors include:
✨ Value for the experience
🍴 Food & beverages
🧼 Cleanliness
🪑 Amenities
🙋🏽‍♀️ Staff service
📶 Wi-Fi
🌴 Overall atmosphere
🚪 Ease of access

And here’s the interesting part: 74% of lounge visitors use them for food and drinks, while 62% say they use them to relax and 37% use them to escape the chaos of the terminal.

Basically… if I’m paying for lounge access, I want more than a bowl of pretzels and a crowded chair. 😂

I hear this one often. And yes, some travel credit cards offer protections… but they may not cover nearly as much as you think.

A recent survey found that travelers were surprised by some of the biggest gaps:

🚨 Many cards have limited cancellation reasons and coverage caps, often around $10,000 per person
🚨 Some only cover trips when the entire fare is charged to that card
🚨 Paying with points, miles or multiple cards can affect your coverage
🚨 Most offer little to no emergency medical coverage overseas
🚨 Pre-existing conditions may not be covered

Your credit card benefits can be great, but they're not necessarily a substitute for comprehensive travel insurance.

Before you decline travel insurance because “my credit card covers me,” 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐭. That little detail could make a BIG difference if something goes wrong. 👀

How much cash should you 𝑎𝑐𝑡𝑢𝑎𝑙𝑙𝑦 take on vacation? Because carrying $2,000 in cash “just in case” probably isn't the move. 💵 ✈️

If you're traveling somewhere that's card friendly, a good rule of thumb is to carry about $200–$500 in cash for emergencies and keep it split up in different places.

But before you decide on an amount, check:
💳 Whether cards are widely accepted
🏧 ATM availability and fees
💱 Foreign transaction fees and exchange rates
💵 Whether tipping is usually done in cash
🚕 Whether you'll need cash for taxis, transfers or small purchases

And don't forget to bring two cards, if possible. If one gets lost, blocked or simply decides to stop working on vacation... you'll have a backup.

The amount of cash you need really depends on where you're going and how you travel. Do a little research before you go so you're prepared without carrying your entire bank account in your purse.

😳 𝐖𝐚𝐢𝐭… 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐝𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐀𝐍𝐘 𝐩𝐚𝐢𝐝 𝐯𝐚𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞?

Yep. More than 33 million American workers currently have no access to paid vacation time.

A new bill called the Protected Time Off (PTO) Act would change that by guaranteeing paid vacation time for eligible workers.

Under the bill, workers would earn 1 hour of paid vacation for every 25 hours worked, up to at least 2 weeks of paid vacation each year. 🏖️✈️

And no, this wouldn’t replace sick leave or family and medical leave. It’s specifically meant to give people actual time off to REST, travel, spend time with family… or simply do absolutely nothing. 😂

Because let’s be honest… vacation shouldn’t be a luxury reserved for people whose jobs come with PTO.
