While construction continues as part of an exciting redevelopment and restoration project around the PoeBaltimore House & Museum, the historic landmark remains open and welcoming visitors.

The humble West Baltimore rowhouse where Edgar Allan Poe lived around 1833 to 1835 played an important role in the writer’s life and career. Today, it helps preserve his Baltimore story and the history right where it happened. šŸ“š

Spend your Labor Day weekend learning about the railroad’s connection to the American Labor Movement!

On September 5 & 6 take our American Freedom Tour and learn about the rise of railroading in America before taking a train ride along the nation’s first mile of commercial track.

Then on Labor Day, take our ā€œWorking on the Railroad: The B&O and the Labor Movementā€ tour and learn about the evolution of workers’ rights through the lens of the B&O Railroad. There will also be a special Ice Cream Monday train ride that the whole family can enjoy. Plus, Museum Admission will only be $5 on September 7 – what a bargain! We can’t wait to see you this weekend at the Museum!

Maryland Opera continues to bring the full spectrum of operatic performance to the Greater Baltimore area through programs in the theater, in the park, and in schools and libraries that celebrate the fun, diversity, and deep emotion of this living art form.
