Map your fun: High Country Road Trip is a 50-mile scenic drive through Banner Elk, Blowing Rock and Boone. The 2026 route features the "Little Parkway" (US 221) while the "Big" Parkway is getting a much needed rebuild between Blowing Rock & Grandfather Mtn with rotating closures. (Key spots on that Parkway section will remain open with access from US 221.) Discover 500 stops along the way, including things to do, shops and restaurants.
