The Bar Harbor to Winter Harbor Ferry crossing Frenchman Bay, passing Winter Harbor Light on its way. This run has been called one of the best ways to experience Downeast Maine: 45 minutes of open water, granite islands, working lobster boats, and a good shot at seals or porpoise before you step off in Bar Harbor. No traffic, no parking hunt, just the ride.
If you haven't taken it, put it on the list — it's the quiet-side approach to Acadia that most people driving in never see.
End of the road. Worth every mile.
