The Goodwin Trails are still in full storm carnage. Untouched. This is the downfall blocking the paved trail along the river. People and/or wildlife have certainly been making the easy climb over the tree. But for meeee? That’ll be a hard no! I’m almost healed up from an encounter on the Hock two weeks ago!
Whatcha think? Do you usually suffer through it or avoid it?

Trail Crews are still doing lots of heavy lifting and chainsaw work all over. We’re still sweeping debris and moving smaller stuff as best we can off the trails.

There are a lot of trees down from Tropical Storm Isais passing through and many have fallen on top of powerlines and wires. It’s a mess out there and crews are working their best. Day 2 if no power. I’m thankful that years of backpacking, bicycle touring and living in Key West has certainly prepared me well for this happening in Connecticut.

Kissing The River.

A lot of my Connecticut riding apparently revolves around rivers, especially the namesake waterway. I’m happy with that!
But I’m not as happy with my Gravel Kings in the North East as I was on the harsh corally gravel of South Florida.
Any suggestions for a tire for typical Hartford mixed terrain riding; ready for 40-60 miles, happy rolling on the road, able to handy a little rooty and rocky singletrack and a bit toothier for mud. Defo dealing with more mud up here.
Bucci Esperanza Jones is currently running 26x2’s with a GK SK in the rear and a Small Block Eight for better grip in corners.
