After a long drive from Kentucky to middle Georgia—complete with rush hour traffic in Atlanta—we made it home yesterday evening around 6:30. We were exhausted, but deeply grateful.

I want to thank each and every one of you for the love and support you’ve shown us. I’m truly overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity that’s been extended to help Milo.

My post about his injuries was meant as a plea—a reminder to always leash your dogs to prevent tragedies like this.

Your support has meant more than words can express. I love you all, and I promise to pay it forward.

Milo was a trooper the entire way, resting quietly in his crate in the back seat without a single whine. Benjamin rode up front as the sole co-pilot. I think he missed his buddy but didn’t seem to mind having a little extra room in their shared car seat.

I also want to give a huge shout-out to Love’s gas stations. Their fenced dog parks truly made this trip possible. Because of Milo’s injuries, he can’t wear a collar or harness, so leashing him wasn’t an option—and I certainly couldn’t risk putting him down to walk freely. At one stop, a Love’s employee had just watered the grass and told me the park was closed. When I explained our situation, he kindly turned off the water and let us use the area. That small act of kindness meant the world.

We had an incredible trip—up until Milo was injured—and I’m especially grateful for the wonderful people I met at T@dapalooza. The kindness, support, concern, and love of all my friends has been heart-warming and has carried us through this horrible event. My heart is full.

Bean Blossom Veterinary Clinic is not where I expected to be today—or yesterday. The last 24 to 30 hours have been nothing short of traumatic, and I am profoundly grateful that my pups are still with me.

Yesterday, a camper two sites down left their pit bull unattended and unleashed in their tent. I was outside, packing the car, and my dogs were leashed and secured to the camper. Suddenly, the pit bull got loose and charged at us. I tried to lift my dogs to safety, but before I could, the pit bull attacked Milo.

What happened next was terrifying. The pit bull wouldn’t let go. I had to physically pull Milo from its mouth.

I rushed him to the nearest vet, Bean Blossom Veterinary Clinic, about 20 minutes away. Thankfully, Milo survived. He suffered four deep lacerations. Because it was already 6 PM, they couldn’t perform surgery until today due to the need for sedation. I brought him back to the vet this morning at 8, and by 1 PM, I was able to pick him up.

His injuries were worse than they initially appeared. Milo has over 30 stitches on the outside, no telling how many on the inside, and a drain tube. The lacerations on his shoulder and chest actually connected under the skin. The vet told me that if the wounds had been just a little deeper, Milo wouldn’t have made it. It could have been so much worse—and I am beyond thankful that he’s still with me.

After picking him up, we left Indiana and drove about four hours. We’ve stopped for the night at a Love’s RV stop. I’m completely drained, and I think the pups are too. Milo and Benjamin are resting on the bed now. I’ve cooked dinner – Ramen for me and the boys got a scrambled egg, taken a hot shower, and will be going to sleep soon. If all goes well, we’ll be home tomorrow.

I want to be clear: I have nothing against pit bulls. I do, however, take serious issue with irresponsible pet owners.

Please—always leash your dogs. You never know what could happen.

Where do I even begin? T@dapalooza has been absolutely phenomenal—and I’ve got three days of memories to catch you up on, so buckle up!

Saturday was camper tour day, and wow—I’m bursting with ideas for upgrades, clever modifications, and new ways to decorate So Cute Camper. I’ve already made two changes: I knocked out a panel to create more storage space and added a hitch tightener so I no longer have to white-knuckle it every time the hitch clanks on the road. That night, we had a potluck dinner with a Dutch oven cooking demo. I made a friend’s corn salad with Fritos, and it was a hit! Everything was delicious, and the white elephant “best camping gadget” exchange afterwards was hilarious. I contributed a W***y Ball light, a suction-cup hook, and a custom mug—and I “stole” a tiny vacuum that works so well for the bugs that sneak into the camper. Total game-changer.

Sunday started with a long hike full of stairs, and the pups did amazing—Milo had more pep than I’ve ever seen! About halfway through, we took a break with two other dog parents and opted to get picked up rather than tackle the uphill return (no shame in that!). When we got back, Theresa and Sanford were serving up Chicago dogs from their camper window—exactly what we needed. Later, we had a “tips and tricks” session that was packed with great advice—that’s where I learned about the hitch tightener. I really need to jot it all down before I forget! Our hosts wrapped up the evening with fun games, and I made it to the final brackets twice!

Monday brought more inspiration. We toured campers with front dinettes like mine, and now I have even more ideas. Everyone loved my one-of-a-kind hanging lamp—a sweet creation from a dear friend. After that, we got crafty and painted camper-themed signs. A few of the ladies even made personalized bandannas for the pups! We had dinner at the 19th Hole just outside the campground—maple Asian salmon and asparagus for me—and they had a dog menu, too! We wrapped up the night around a cozy campfire.
Today (Tuesday) started with an excellent potluck breakfast with delicious cast iron waffles made over the fire, pancakes, hash browns, breakfast casserole, and fruit. I made Croisant’s in my Omnia oven. It has been a laid-back day, and I’ve started getting things put away to head out bright and early in the morning. Tonight wad awards night, raffles, and entertainment from the Tab Daddy’s! So Cute Camper won Best Interior Decorations and I won a cute model camper. The Tab Daddys were fantastic!

I’m heading home with new ideas, fun memories, and a full heart. Can’t wait for the next adventure!

We to a woke to a cozy, rain-soaked morning—the kind that whispers, “Stay in bed a little longer.” So we did. I sipped my coffee under the covers and flipped through a magazine about Brown County, plotting out a day of adventuring.

By 10:00, the rain had dialed it down to a drizzle, so we wandered over to the campground store where I scored my go-to souvenirs: a deck of playing cards and a little sticker for my travel mug. Simple joys.

Next up: a jaunt into Nashville—no, not that Nashville, but the charming little town nearby, full of winding streets, quirky shops, and hidden gems. Since I had the pups in tow, most stores were off-limits… which, if we’re being honest, saved me from spending money and gaining calories.

The irony of the day? Percy’s Perks—a coffee shop with a dog on the sign—didn’t allow dogs. No coffee for me, but it gave me a laugh.

The pups, however, had their moment of glory at Bone Appétit, a pet boutique where they hit the jackpot: a mixed bag of treats, pumpkin sticks, dental chews, and even a cow ear. We passed some fun store names, admired intricate wood carvings, Benjamin paused to sniff a flower like a true gentleman and Milo admired the artwork.

Back at camp, the town stroll had thoroughly worn out my co-pilots. They crashed hard, and I joined them for a rejuvenating nap. Later, we all gathered for a “taste of home” snack night, so I whipped up some boiled peanuts in the Instant Pot—Southern-style! To my delight, they were a hit.

We talked about the weekend itinerary, our campers, and got to know each other around the campfire, swapping stories and laughs. This T@da group? Absolute gems.

Another day in the books—rain-soaked, treat-filled, and full of gratitude. Just the way I like it.

We cruised into Indiana with a smooth, scenic drive and rolled into Brown County State Park right around 2 PM. The entrance road? Absolutely stunning—winding along a ridge with views that made me slow down just to soak it in. I’ve read this area is nicknamed the “Smokies of the North,” and I totally get why. It’s like nature decided to show off a little.

Of course, I had to pull over so the pups could hop out, sniff every leaf and twig, and stretch their little legs in the fresh forest air. Once we made it to the campground, a kindred T@da spirit helped me back into my site like a pro. I had So Cute Camper all set up in no time—awning out, lights up, and not a single meltdown (not even when trying to figure out the awning, thanks to another T@da owner swooping in to save the day!).

Dinner was a juicy steak grilled to perfection, followed by campfire laughs and stories with a whole crew of fellow T@da adventurers. I’ll admit, I was a bit anxious about towing this far solo. But there’s a little sign hanging in my camper that says, She believed she could, so she did—and today, I believed it.

You know we had to stop at Aldi! Stocked up on jerky treats for the furry copilots (bribery at its finest) and grabbed a couple gallons of water to keep us rolling. Now we’re fueled, hydrated, and heading full throttle toward Indiana! 🛻🐾💨

We hit the road today for a picture-perfect drive—with two snoozing co-pilots who offered zero navigation support but made up for it with their cuteness. Our first pit stop was at Farm to Fork in Ringgold, GA, where I had lunch with an old coworker-turned-friend. The pups were absolute pros at the restaurant (even though they’re not exactly “fine dining” regulars). I had a delicious salmon dish, and my friend’s strawberry shrimp salad looked like it belonged in a magazine. Best part? She sent me off with half a dozen fresh eggs from her backyard chickens—breakfast this week is going to be next level.

From Ringgold to Somerset, KY, the scenery put on quite a show. Rolling hills, forest views, and even a truck with a giant smiley face on it—roadtrip vibes were on point. We passed through the breathtaking Daniel Boone National Forest and stopped for a stretch and sniff (for the pups, not me) at the stunning Cumberland Falls.

We rolled up to my friend’s place—fellow Sister on the Fly—and were welcomed with open arms and the heavenly scent of BBQ. Dinner? Pulled pork, pintos, and slaw that tasted like it came from a Southern comfort food dream. We played a round of Azul, chatted, and finally called it a night.

Now we’re all cozied up in So Cute Camper. The pups are snoring softly, and I’m soaking in the peace before tomorrow’s adventure. Next stop: Indiana!

Stay cute and see you tomorrow! 🌼

We’re officially on the road, and the adventure begins! My trusty co-pilots, Benjamin and Milo, and I are headed to Indiana for T@daPalooza—a gathering of folks who own and love their T@da campers. I’ve been counting down the days since I first got So Cute Camper, and I can’t wait to connect with other enthusiasts, learn new tips, and just enjoy the ride. This trip is shaping up to be the perfect mix of fun, inspiration, and a well-deserved reset.

Yesterday was a whirlwind of emotions. The day started with my third and final interview for a senior instructional designer role at Cox Communications—a company I’ve admired since I switched careers three years ago. Just after that, I had a promising second interview for a contract opportunity I’m genuinely excited about. But the hardest part of the day came later, when I had to say goodbye to my sweet dog, Noah. He’s been with our family for 11 wonderful years—our protector, our companion, and just the best big boy. We miss him deeply already.

Here’s to new beginnings, honoring memories, and hitting the open road with gratitude. 💛 let me know if you see us

I’m so grateful today is “get to go camping” day. Nothing makes me happier than seeing So Cute Camper in my rearview mirror.

I knew the day was starting out rough with a root canal. I’m so very thankful that my dentist could get me in quickly- for more than one reason. Thirty minutes after getting done at the dentist, I get a call that I’m laid off. I was expecting it but was really hoping it wouldn’t happen. My employer is a government contractor company that specializes in immigration. I survived 2 earlier lay offs and am thankful for that. (If you know anyone looking for an Instructional Designer, send them my way!)

Anyway, enough of the not good stuff. As you know, we love Aldi and had to stop. I met the 2 nicest ladies, Mary Anne and Cornelia, and they made my day! It made my day the other Iady stopped too but i didnt get her name. They wanted a tour of So Cute Camper and I told them all about Sisters on the Fly. I am hosting an event this weekend for 17 sisters to just play games, enjoy our girl time and relax.

There’s always good to be found in every day, no matter how cruddy it starts! Stay cute!
