On February 3, 2023, the Happy Days Travel Club visited Medieval Times and enjoyed stepping back in time to watch knights of old joust for fame and victory. One of our own club was hailed as the Queen of Love and Beauty. Good times!

It's a New Year and time to start travelling with the Happy Days Travel Club. The first trip of the year, on January 5, 2023, was to the Fox Theatre, with a stop at the Farmer's Market and lunch at Mary Mac's. Everyone had a wonderful time!

Thursday, October 6, was a beautiful day in Georgia. The Happy Days Travel Club had a sold-out trip to Porterdale and Covington, GA. In Porterdale, we learned about how a company-owned mill town operated and saw the mill, the gymnasium, the library, the old jail, and the houses where the mill workers lived. Those houses are now being renovated for new owners. Our tour guide, Shantey, brought the history of the town to life and then fed us a delicious lunch.

Then, we visited Covington and saw the film industry props. We drove around town and saw the historic homes.

A bowl of ice cream was the perfect ending to a perfect day.

Niagara Falls was the destination of the Happy Days Travel Club members who took the Diamond Tours trip on June 12-18, 2022. Club President Jeff Baker kept the group entertained as they visited the Erie Canal and several museums. The highlight of the trip was, of course, the Maid of the Mist ride below Niagara Falls. Everyone had a wonderful time, even though current restrictions kept the group from seeing the Falls from the Canadian side.

On the boat ride through the Erie Canal, members of the group couldn't resist singing "I've got a mule and her name is Sal, Fifteen miles on the Erie Canal. She's a good old worker and a good old pal, Fifteen miles on the Erie Canal."

All in all, it was great fun with wonderful people and the memories will last a lifetime.

On March 3, 2022, we enjoyed a beautiful day trip to Milledgeville. After our arrival at the Visitor's Center, our tour guide Sarah joined us on our van and pointed out some of the landmarks, including Georgia State College and Georgia Military College and St. Stephen's Church. The Old Governor's Mansion was fascinating and beautifully restored. Lunch at "The Brick" was delicious and affordable. They had a great menu, with lots of choices to suit any appetite. In the afternoon, we toured Andalusia Farms, the home of author Flannery O'Connor. Many of us took an opportunity to relax in the rocking chairs on the front porch. Phyllis McLean organized this amazing trip and Debra Ruffin stepped in to lead the trip in Phyllis' place. Our prayers our with Phyllis as she heals. Mary Allen, as always, did an amazing job as our driver.

On Thursday, December 2, 2021, the Happy Days Travel Club visited Macon, GA. They started the day by touring the Cannonball House. Then, they admired the Festival of Trees at the Macon Art Museum. Plus, they saw the museum's exhibits and animals. They topped off the afternoon with some ice cream at Scoops. What a wonderful way to begin the Christmas season!

On Saturday, October 2, 2021, the Happy Days Travel Club went to Harlem, GA, to celebrate the 32nd Annual Oliver Hardy Festival. Oliver Hardy was born in Harlem, GA, and the festival remembers him and his acting partner, Stan Laurel, with a parade, craft and food vendors, a car show, entertainment, movie shorts in the Theater and lots of other fun things to do.

What a beautiful day to be outdoors at the State Botanical Gardens in Athens, GA! The Happy Days Travel Club started their September 2, 2021, Day Trip at the gardens, then lunched at the Plantation Buffet and stopped to see some amazing pottery at the Watkinsville Cultural Center on their way back to Barnesville.

The Tellus Museum, in Cartersville, GA, was the destination for the August 5, 2021, Happy Days Travel Club Day Trip. We enjoyed seeing everything from astronauts to dinosaurs.

The July 8, 2021 Happy Days Travel Club Day Trip was to Columbus, Georgia. In the morning, we toured the Coca-Cola Space Science Center, had lunch at the Old Times Bar-B-Que, and spent the afternoon at the Columbus Art Museum. On the way home, we made an ice cream stop at the Flint Grill in Woodbury. It was a great day. Lots to do; lots to see!
