Had another great weekend in Barryville, and later, Eldred— we went to the Barryville Farmers Market where we got some fresh veggies and fruits (carrots, celery, peaches, nectarines, tiny apples), ate some delicious cold borscht, donated our well loved children’s books to the church, and sat and ate amazing empanadas AND popcorn all while enjoying the view of the Delaware River. After that, we stopped by the Sunshine Free Library to return and take out more books (they have an epic, old school New Age section)! I also love that there is a little deck with umbrellas to sit and read… our final stop before going home was perusing all the goodies at Sullivan Public. I love this place.

This is the bedroom guests always mention first—simple, quiet, and warm in all the right ways. I love all our special finds we’ve gathered over the years… from the auctionninja art pieces to my daughter’s doodles framed on the walls… The bed is cozy (I sink into the mattress in a good way!), the breeze in the morning is soft, and it just feels good to wake up slow here. A little rustic, a little sanctuary. I already miss it!

Our new, little jade Buddha lives on this mossy rock where we sit for Metta meditation. It’s quiet, soft, and sometimes it feels like the birds are answering back when we send out kindness. Sometimes it’s so peaceful and quiet we just fall asleep there. 😂 We sat in silence for another five minutes before starting our day at the and eventually making a stop (and returning lots of books) at the library. A beautiful and peaceful start to a simple Saturday up here in Barryville… 💕🪷🕉️🧘‍♀️

Every piece in this space has a story—collected over time, from places we love— from our travels around the world, surprises in antique stores, gifts from family… from late night scrolls. Shohola Falls always quiets my mind. Something about the sound of the water, the way the light moves—it reminds me to slow down, to look around, to feel grateful just to be here. The stillness, the rhythm, the beauty—it settles something deep inside me every time. And yet, I get so caught up in everything else, I forget to go— even though it’s only 20 minutes from our home!

Bringing my kids here feels like sharing a secret with them. Watching their joy, their curiosity, their easy laughter—it reminds me how connected they are to the world around them. In nature, they’re really free. Unfiltered, totally wide-eyed, full of questions and wonder. These rare moments root them—and me—back into something real. They were so resistant to coming here at first, but as soon as they saw the safe pockets of water and shifting trees that feel like portals, they were instantly reminded of what it means to be pure and human.

Absolutely beautiful echinacea and black eyed Susans in bloom, our hearts full, and memories made by the lake.
