Vacationing at May Brook Falls Cottages gives you the opportunity to relax, unwind, and enjoy a slower pace. Each cottage is equipped with a kitchen, making it easy to prepare meals, make a few drinks, and feed those hungry kids. Or, take the short drive (or walk) into town where there are a few local restaurants that offer a number of delicious options. Barton has a school playground, a grocery s

tore, a library, and a number of hiking opportunities. Or just relax at May Brook - the property features this beautiful waterway, and the picturesque waterfall that feeds it. Located across from Crystal Lake, its a short walk across a little dirt road to Pageant Park, the quiet village beach. There is a small fee for day use, but its a great place for for a relaxing day at the water. Or, a short walk will put you at the state beach, where for just a few dollars you have a larger beachfront, activities, and public restrooms as well as the hustle and bustle of a busy public beach. This studio cottage features a full kitchen, bathroom with a shower, and a queen sixed Murphy Cabinet bed, sleeps 2. Enjoy looking at the early morning sun streaking across the water or watch the birds in the yard as you enjoy a cup of coffee or tea on the screened in front porch. Cottages 2 and 3
These family cottages include three rooms and a bathroom. The large, fully equipped kitchens are perfect for longer stays. While a living room/kids room offers sleeping space and the ability to spread out a bit on those rainy days, or when escaping from the mid-day sun. A separate bedroom with a full sized bed lets parents have a little privacy. Both cottages have bathrooms with showers, and a cozy front porch overlooking the yard. The bedrooms overlook May Brook. Bedrooms have smart TVs. The Property: A full acer of land gives families plenty of room to spread out and play. Yard games, tag, lounging by a fire, grilling (grills provided)... the possibilities are endless. Or take a walk to the back of the property to enjoy the sight and sound of the falls that feed our brook - this magical place will enchant you, and make this vacation one to remember. Over the last week, the light has shifted letting us know that fall is almost here. But there is still plenty of time to enjoy the cottages.
September brings warms days, cool nights perfect for campfires, and toward the end of the month changing leaves.

The brighter photo was taken in the afternoon around 4:30 p.m August 20., the darker photo with light slanting through the trees was taken Aug 28th at 5 p.m.

Spring has finally, truly arrived in Northern Vermont!

Today we spent time putting in some daylillies along a new ditch on the cabin property

Following last year's rainy summer with all of the flooding, the natural forest drainage around the property changed courses, and areas of the property couldn't drain, so we put in a new ditch to divert the water. It is turning into a little brook with all of the water coming from the forest.

This new garden makes it look so much better. We will be adding shade plants along the rest of the ditch in a few weeks.

Next week we will be cabin cleaning as we get ready to start the season!

Christmas bells are ringing 🎼

Here in Vermont we are blanketed in white and as Christmas is just around the corner, our cozy cabins are hunkered down for the winter.

But ...

Thoughts of warm summer days are never far from mind as we sit by the wood stove, and it's never too early to plan a summer get away - the woods are calling

New updates to the cabins between guests.

New queen sized Murphy cabinet bed to replace the futon in our studio cabin

A new shelving unit in the studio cabin so we could add a microwave, and as a bonus, the table folds down so that there is more space in the kitchen.

The new bookcases are in place in the livingroom/bunk rooms of cabins 2 and 3

And, more shelving has been installed above the microwaves in cabins 2 and 3
