The Riviera Hotel and Casino, which opened on April 20, 1955, was a pioneering high-rise resort on the northern Las Vegas Strip. It became famous for hosting iconic entertainers such as Liberace, Frank Sinatra, and Elvis Presley. Despite expansions, it struggled financially and ultimately closed on May 4, 2015, before being demolished in 2016. Today, its former location has been integrated into the Las Vegas Convention Center expansion, with portions of the land reserved for future development. The Riviera remains a cherished piece of Las Vegas history.
