“Is the Disney Dining Plan worth it?”

This is one of the questions I get asked the most when planning Walt Disney World vacations, and my answer is almost always YES—absolutely!

Here’s a real-life example from our family’s trip last month at one of our favorite restaurants, ’Ohana at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.

We are a family of four:
✨ 2 Adults
✨ 2 Kids (ages 12 & 9)

Since Disney considers guests ages 10 and older as adults for dining plans, our 12-year-old used an adult meal. That’s why you’ll see 3 adult dinners and 1 child dinner on the receipt.

For this single meal, our total came to $356.07, which included:
🍽️ 3 Adult Dinners
🍽️ 1 Child Dinner
🍹 2 Specialty Cocktails
🍍 1 Piña Colava (non-alcoholic)
🧋 1 Stitch Smoothie

The Dining Plan covered the meals and drinks, leaving us responsible for just the gratuity. That’s a significant value for one dinner alone!

Everyone travels differently, so the Dining Plan isn’t the right fit for every family. But if you enjoy character dining, family-style meals, or table-service restaurants like ’Ohana, it can provide excellent value while making your vacation feel much more stress-free.
