Following weeks of consideration and signature gathering, the list of candidates who will appear on the ballot in Bay City this November is final.
With two candidates for Mayor and eight candidates for three Councilor positions, voters will have choices.
We hope to organize a Candidate Forum in October so community members can get to know the candidates a bit better before making their choices on the ballot.

A weekend of patchy weather did not deter the crowds from attending Bay City’s fifth annual Pearl and Oyster Festival on August 22 and 23, at Al Griffin Memorial Park.

Today a few dozen kids watched from the upper levels as Pat & Linda Vining slid down the new slides and cut the ribbon as they reached the bottom. (Ribbon held by Helen Wright and Council President Kathy Baker.)
Mayor Liane Welch also presented a bench dedicated to Pat for over three decades of volunteering for Bay City.
Generations spanned this event, with attendees less than 80 days old and others older than 80 years young.
Good fun was had by all!
Thank you to everyone who helped make this dream come true, which was enjoyed by hundreds of kids on this opening weekend!

Huge shout out THANK YOU to the volunteers from the Pickleball Club, Pearl & Oyster Festival, and Tillamook Bay Fire & Rescue who teamed up with city staff to erect the event tent today. Great teamwork resulted in much quicker completion than ever before!

Specialists crews have completed application of the pathway that will ensure accessibility for all kids in the new playground at Al Griffin Memorial Park. This week our crews will be filling and leveling the playground with engineered wood fibers, getting ready for this weekend's opening.
We appreciate your patience -- just a couple more days and the playground will be open!
(We will erect the 2-5 structure after the Pearl Festival.)
Join us Sunday at 11:30 for the ribbon cutting!

Less than two weeks until the weekend of August 21-23, when Bay City will be filled with things to do!

While it looks like the Public Works crew is finishing up the new playground, there is still a lot that needs to be done before it is open for play.
There are still more pieces to install, and the specialists need to install the surface to make the main elements accessible to all kids.
We're excited too, but there's more to come, so please be patient!
