Got Amos (snow dog) out for an afternoon fishing trip on the Saginaw River. Lots of small fish caught. Still looking for a big one to weigh in.

The boats went into winter storage and the ice fishing gear is coming out of summer storage. I checked the ice/fishing conditions on the Saginaw River within walking distance from Captains Landing and the ice is setting up nicely and there was plenty of hungry walleyes the last couple days. There are a lot of 10-14 inch walleyes in the river now so there is a lot of sorting. I have a lot of weekday openings for lodging and shanty rental on the river if anyone is interested. I will be fishing out of Captains Landing on the days that are not rented out. Message me if interested in some ice fishing opportunities.

Had some skim ice last night at captains landing. Tug just went through and broke it up though.. won’t be long. Winter rates of $250 per night are in effect until April 2026. Still have 2 weekends available in Feb.

Thanks to theil tree service for donating a charter for the Eagle by the bay race. These lucky winners brought some good luck and great weather to Saginaw bay today. Filled all 40 hooks at the marina today… captain and first mate even got to reel some in. Great day.

Wow a record 1,987 walleye caught at the walleye for warriors this year. We got 23 with our warriors. Thank you for your service.

Rough seas on Saturday so fished in the Saginaw River on the 24 footer. Managed to get my 4 fish for the tournament. Sunday fished out in Saginaw bay for another 4 fish. Ended up 10 place in the Freeland walleye festival tournament. Bandits 20 foot back was good by the island.
