Have you ever wondered why Disney’s private island is not pronounced the way you would think? It definitely stumped me.. 🙋🏼‍♀️

The word “Cay” is actually pronounced as “key” because the word is derived from the Spanish word Cayo (meaning a small island or reef) which is traditionally pronounced with an “ee” sound throughout the Caribbean!

DCL fun fact for your Friday: Disney Cruise Line had to seek special clearance from maritime authorities & prove this shade of yellow was just as visible as the standard safety orange color that is traditionally used for lifeboats. They wanted the fleet to highlight Mickey’s iconic colors & this was the final piece to that puzzle! 🟡⚫️🔴

Disney Cruise Line has officially announced its Fall 2027 and Spring 2028 itineraries, and there are some exciting changes coming! 🤭

The Disney Wish will be heading to New York City for the first time, offering guests the opportunity to experience a Disney Cruise from NYC with ports of call in New England, Canada, and Bermuda. 🍎🗽

Even more exciting, the Disney Destiny will be calling Port Canaveral home for the first time, offering even more opportunities to combine a Disney Cruise with a Walt Disney World vacation!

Booking teirs start opening August 31, 2026 for eligible Castaway Club members, & general booking opens September 8, 2026.

I am officially out of the Disney bubble & back to Indiana (I know this because I just passed a man on a lawn mower driving down the highway lol).

I am walking away from this weekend with a full cup feeling so grateful for this opportunity & the people I got to share it with. Technically we are all “individuals” in this business so it is such a privilege to have this group (+ so many not pictured) of people to lean on and collaborate with.
