The groundbreaking for improvements to the Bay St. Louis, Mississippi, Amtrak station is scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday. The station will be reactivated even though no train is serving the Gulf Coast.

The choice is yours….the low commotion is train themed unit on the bottom floor and upstairs is an open floor plan with a loft. We can also work out a rental in conjunction with the owners of the Low Commotion and you get have them both!

We are across the street from the historic train depot that will be running 4 trips per day to Nola. Restaurants and shopping just steps from your front door. Even more dining and shopping located a half mile away. All this plus beach access are an easy walk, bike or golf cart away!!

As the 15th anniversary of Katrina draws near, we realize many new BSL residents don't know some of the community's most moving recovery stories. Here's a happy-ending one from the wonderful MSNBC series (now archived without images), "Rising from Ruin."

Bulldozers were parked at this irreplaceable historic building, ready to raze it to the ground. The publicity from the story helped turn the tide at the eleventh hour (11:58!) and after an amazing community effort (and lots of help from MDAH Historic Preservation Division). The building now serves as a cherished marker of our town's heritage and home of the BSL Little Theatre.

Thank you, journalist Mike Stuckee and the others who helped save this place! Bay St. Louis owes you a great debt.

No boat? No problem!! Rent a kayak/SUP or bring your own. We have quick and easy fishing near shore. You can see my little guy was able to paddle out easily. These weren’t caught on live bait either. Just soft plastics and popping corks. There’s also a lot of fun to be had with nets and flashlights at night!!

If is your thing then is the place for you!! We have miles and miles of shallow sandy water loaded with speckled trout, white trout, red fish and flounder. We also have some of the best flounder gigging around.
