130+ Years of History. 1,000+ Hours of Craftsmanship. One Incredible Transformation.

Built in 1893, this stunning Queen Anne Victorian in Portland's historic King's Hill neighborhood deserved something extraordinary.

Our Mountain Painting Company team spent over 1,000 hours carefully preparing, scraping, sanding, and painting this magnificent 6,000-square-foot home.

The result? A spectacular celebration of Victorian architecture, where vibrant blues, rich plum, deep navy, and delicate gold accents highlight every beautiful ornamental detail.

We are thrilled to share one of our recently completed exterior painting projects in Portland's beautiful Irvington neighborhood!

From Weathered to Beautiful

There's something incredibly rewarding about bringing natural cedar back to life.

This beautiful West Linn home had cedar shake siding that had weathered over the years from Oregon's rain, moisture, and UV exposure. Rather than replacing the cedar, we restored it through a careful cleaning and brightening process before finishing it with Armstrong-Clark® Oil-Based Semi-Transparent Stain.

The transformation is remarkable.

The rich amber tones are back, the natural wood grain shines through, and the cedar is once again protected for years to come. We especially love how the restored wood complements the crisp white trim and the warm cedar ceiling over the front porch.

One of our favorite parts of restoration work is preserving the original craftsmanship of a home instead of covering it up or replacing it. Natural cedar has a beauty that's worth protecting.

This 1926 English Cottage in Portland's Arlington Heights neighborhood had accumulated decades of old paint that was no longer protecting the original wood siding underneath.

Our team completed a full paint stripping and restoration process, carefully removing failing coatings, following lead-safe practices, priming the exposed wood, and bringing this historic home back to life.

These are the projects we love most. Historic homes tell a story, and we believe they deserve the patience, craftsmanship, and attention to detail required to preserve them for the next generation.
