The VA250 - American Revolution 250 Commission traveling banner exhibition will be at the Welcome Center through June 8! The Welcome Center is open daily 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

A job fair is being held in Bedford County, Virginia on May 28, 10 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. in the cafeteria at Staunton River High School. This is open to the public and free to attend. Food truck and coffee truck will be on site. Check out the businesses that are participating. Come prepared for interviews on the spot.

Happy Birthday to Michelle! 🌻

Michelle has been a steady force behind the Welcome Center and the Tourism Department for years, and is the one who knows how to do a little bit of everything and somehow keeps all the moving pieces together. As Administrative Manager, she wears more hats than anyone, and she does it all with patience, dedication, and a sense of humor that makes this such a great place to work.

We truly couldn’t do all that we do without her, and we’re all lucky to work alongside someone who cares so much about this team and this community. Wishing you a birthday as wonderful as you are, Michelle! 💐🎂

Due to rain in the Bedford area, the Memorial Day ceremony will be delayed by a half hour. The ceremony will begin at 11:30 a.m. Admission is free.

The annual Memorial Day Ceremony at the National D-Day Memorial will be held on Monday, May 25 at 11 a.m. Admission is free until noon.
Guest speaker will be Ami Waldron representing Mothers of Veteran Su***de.

We had the pleasure of welcoming the Mothers of Veteran Su***de (MOVS) to Bedford this weekend, with the HOPE Mobile parked at the Welcome Center during their retreat at Smith Mountain Lake. This is part of their "Operation HOPE" Tour.
Members of VFW Post 1264-Irvin L Manning- Roanoke,VA also stopped by to present thoughtful gifts to the moms.
On Monday, MOVS Board President Ami Waldron will be the featured speaker at the National D-Day Memorial’s Memorial Day Ceremony at 11 a.m. 🇺🇸🦋

On May 21, 2026, come out and show your support for our nation's military during the annual Run for the Wall! The bikers will be arriving at approximately 1:50 p.m. at the Bedford Area Welcome Center on their way to the National D-Day Memorial for a wreath-laying ceremony. They will depart the Memorial around 3:30 p.m. Join us for a patriotic welcome, be part of the send off, or both! 🇺🇸

Happy Belated Birthday to Dee Dee! 🎉💜
Her birthday was Sunday, May 17, and we celebrated with her on May 15. 😄

For more than 20 years, Dee Dee has been such an important part of our team, always helping keep the Welcome Center looking its best and welcoming to everyone who walks through the doors. Her sense of humor keeps us laughing, and her dedication doesn't go unnoticed.

We’re grateful for all she does and for the joy she brings to the workplace every day. We love you, Dee Dee, and hope you had a wonderful birthday! 🎂
