One of the most common questions travelers ask before heading overseas is: Do I need an adapter or a converter?

🔌 Adapter: Changes the shape of your plug so it fits into a foreign outlet. It does not change the voltage.

⚡ Converter: Changes the electrical voltage from one country to another. These are only needed for devices that are not designed to handle multiple voltages.

The good news? Most modern electronics—phones, tablets, laptops, cameras, and e-readers—are dual voltage and only require an adapter. Check the small print on your charger. If it says "Input: 100-240V", you're good to go with just an adapter.

Items like hair dryers, curling irons, and some electric razors may require a converter unless they are specifically labeled as dual voltage.

• Check your device's voltage requirements
• Research the plug type used in your destination
• Consider a universal travel adapter for multiple countries
