5,506' is accessible by chairlift, offering panoramic views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, a variety of lunch options, a full bar, and live music.

Beginning in June, they will offer lunch and live music every Saturday, followed by ticketed sunset dinner experience.

This is what you see when you first arrive on the property!
Since our vacation rental is a condo and not a stand-alone property, the entrance to our place is well... just a door 😂 (although, you can swipe to see our efforts to decorate our door!)
A big part of our decision to buy this property was because of the amenities that came along with it. First, we have an amazing location (less than a mile from SkiBeech and less than 20 mins from Sugar and Grandfather mountain).
The property has pretty incredible resort amenities including an indoor heated pool, 2 hot tubs, a sauna, small fitness room, games and several recreation areas. Feel like a game of mini golf, tennis, pickle ball?

I love that we get to offer all of this to our guests who stay with us!

The 45th Annual Woolly Worm Festival takes place October 15th and 16th, in Banner Elk North Carolina.

This celebration is like the winter version of Groundhog’s Day. The Woolly Worm is believed to predict the upcoming winter season, is it going to be snow-heavy or warm? Determined by a race of the worms, the last worm standing predicts the weather!

And you get to race!” The Woolly Worm races begin around 10:00 a.m. Each heat consists of 25 worms and races continue all day until the grand final around 4 p.m. The winning worm on Saturday is declared the official winter forecasting agent. The Sunday worm races are for prestige, fun and small prizes. Worm Races are limited so please arrive early to the festival and register your worms.”

Admission is $6 Cash/$7 Credit for Adults
Children (6-12) are $4 Cash/$5 Credit

Fall Colors Coming Soon! 🍂

We are definitely excited for the leaves to change! Every year, we get hundreds of visitors to the High Country just to drive through and experience the beauty of the autumn colors.

Leaves change at their own pace and depend on the weather to know when to turn, but there are some patterns figured out:

🍁Late September: The first foliage starts turning on the highest summits and rocky slopes like Rough Ridge hike.

🍁Early October: The highest elevations including the top half of Sugar Mountain, Grandfather Mountain and Linn Cove Viaduct area of the Blue Ridge Parkway have the most foliage color.

🍁Mid October: Most of the Blue Ridge Parkway in the area (see Parkway Scenic Loop) peaks – especially the Linville Falls area.

🍁Late October: The valleys and views from the Parkway into the valleys are the most vibrant areas of color and continue into early November.

Because of the popularity, places go fast! ‼️If you’re wanting to spend a weekend surrounded by reds, oranges, and yellows, and crisp fall weather, now is the time to book!

went to the Grand Opening of ‘s new Craft Coffee Shop ( along with the still fabulous flower and home shop). They got to enjoy one of the best iced lattes they’ve had in while... called The Goldfinch. Go check them out. You’ll thank me later. 😉
