I met Jeff several years ago, via our passion for the outdoors and wildlife conservation. We spoke for quite a while about life, family, faith and the future of bass fishing. And the most important thing I've come to learn about Jeff is that, what he DOES - is WHO HE IS.

WEEK 4 RECAP: UF FIELD TRIP, AGRICULTURE & OWL HOUSE BUILDING!

This week, we launched Week 4 with an incredible field trip to the University of Florida, diving deep into the science behind agriculture, water systems, and Florida’s natural environment.

💧 Water Quality & Testing
Campers learned how water is tested at pump stations and the role it plays in sustaining healthy crops and clean ecosystems.

🐛 Bug & Tree Science
We explored how different insects impact agriculture, how trees are monitored for health, and the science that protects Florida’s green spaces.

🦉 Owl House Build
One of the highlights: the kids built their own owl houses designed to attract owls that serve as natural pest control in agriculture. We’re excited to showcase them at graduation!

🎣 Fishing Every Week
As always, each week includes hands-on fishing experiences, helping our youth apply everything they’re learning about the environment and conservation while developing real-life outdoor skills.

🌿 Connecting Science, Stewardship & Outdoor Skills
From land to water to wildlife, this week gave our campers a full-circle look at what it means to care for the world around them.

WEEK 3 RECAP: WILDLIFE, ARCHERY, WATER SAFETY & FISHING FUN

Week 3 of the MCA Total Experience was packed with purpose blending outdoor exploration, life-saving knowledge, and a deeper respect for South Florida’s natural environment.

We were blessed to partner with the National Wildlife Refuge, Palm Beach County Drowning Prevention, and local outdoor leaders to bring education, excitement, and empowerment to our campers.

🦅 Bird Watching & Ecosystem Awareness
Our youth took a closer look at how birds signal the health of our ecosystems and why it’s important to protect their habitats.

🏹 ARCHERY: Confidence, Control & Precision
One of the most exciting parts of the week was mastering the bow and arrow:
• Safety and proper form
• Mental focus and control
• Building discipline, patience, and self-trust
🎯 Archery is now a camp favorite!

🐾 Wildlife Education
From bobcats and Florida panthers to deer and wild hogs, campers learned about native species and the crucial role each plays in our ecosystem including state protections and regulations.

🌊 DROWNING PREVENTION with Palm Beach County
Thanks to the incredible team at Palm Beach County Drowning Prevention, our kids walked away with real-world water safety knowledge:
• How to respond in emergencies
• Life-saving awareness
• Confidence to protect themselves and others near water

🎣 FISHING TRIP + SLIM’S FISH CAMP
To top it all off, we hit the water for a fishing trip that was both relaxing and educational. A huge thank you to Slim’s Fish Camp for showing our kids hospitality and sponsoring them with tackle-filled goodie bags a gift that’ll keep them hooked all summer long!

We’re not just teaching outdoor skills we’re building future leaders, protectors, and thinkers who understand the value of both nature and life itself.

🚨 WEEK 2 RECAP: FWC WEEK

Week 2 brought the wild to life! Thanks to our amazing partners at the Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), our youth gained unforgettable experiences in conservation, safety, and outdoor exploration.

🦺 Water Safety 101 – Life jackets, boat rules, and reading our waterways.

🐕‍🦺 K-9 Unit Demo – A live look at how trained dogs help protect Florida’s wildlife.

🚤 Outboard Boat Tour – Many took their first boat ride ever, learning how FWC officers patrol and preserve.

🦎 Wildlife Talk – From gators to iguanas, campers learned about Florida’s native species and the rules that keep them safe.

🎣 BONUS: Slim’s Fish Camp
We wrapped the week with a visit to Slim’s Fish Camp, where the kids received goodie bags full of tackle to fuel their fishing journey. Huge shoutout to their team for supporting our mission! 🎣

This week wasn’t just fun it was foundational. We’re raising outdoor leaders who know how to protect and respect the world around them.
