Sundstrom was a hiking legend, once the oldest woman to summit Mount Rainier. She found peace in the Cascades after losing her family in the Holocaust.

It's spring foraging season! I took my first-of-the-season Airbnb experiences guests into the rainy woods on Sunday to forage for stinging nettles and other edibles. They went home and made a feast with their finds!

"Northwest residents say that you’ll find true locals mostly outdoors, despite the rainy weather. In the poll, 66% of Pacific Northwest residents claimed they participate in more outdoor activities than indoor ones when compared with their counterparts from other regions in the U.S."

A recent poll of Pacific Northwest residents found that while as many as a third of respondents consider themselves a transplant, the vast majority say they identify with quintessentially Northwest characteristics.
