Third Thursdays return to Tacoma this week on April 16 with free admission to museums downtown. The downtown galleries will also be open for the monthly art walk. A great excuse to spend an evening in Tacoma.

Seattle hotel prices may finally be easing a bit for summer travelers.

A few months ago, FIFA reserved large blocks of hotel rooms in Seattle ahead of the World Cup. More recently, reporting indicated that some of those reservations were canceled, which could help take some pressure off prices.

Seattle is still going to be busy this summer, but if you’ve been holding off on booking, it may be worth checking hotel rates again.

Tillicum Village on Blake Island was a staple for a lot of Washington kids growing up.

Field trips, the longhouse, and that salmon cooked over an open fire. It was one of the more unique experiences in the region.

In 2021, it shut down after decades of operation, and the buildings have been sitting unused since.

Curious what people remember most from going out there.
