Great cruise to Fisherman’s Bay! The weather finally cooperated and a great time was had by all. Unfortunately we couldn’t keep the King that was caught but a nice Coho made it to the boat. We had a nice dinner at The Islander to cap off the trip. A big thanks to Rob and Sharon for hosting!

A big thanks to Nicholas Verrochi for a history lesson and tour of his boat MV Argonaut II! Argonaut is a 73 foot, 1922 wooden motor yacht, originally built in Vancouver as Greta M. Her most remarkable chapter was her 30 years as the United Church of Canada mission vessel Thomas Crosby IV, when she served remote coastal communities as a floating hospital, church, post office and supply vessel. Please check out his You Tube channel and consider supporting his efforts as he continues to restore her!

Another fun stretch cruise- first Anacortes then LaConner! A big thanks to our hosts Peggy and Walt, with help from Tess and Brent in Anacortes and Janine and Nick with help from Celie and David in LaConner! In Anacortes we had lunch at Rockfish Grill (with an obligatory stop at Mad Hatter Ice Cream for some) and dinner at COA in LaConner.

What a great time at our first extended cruise! We met up at Prevost Harbor for the first leg and had a wonderful salmon dinner cooked on the dock compliments of Wade and his crew Hanna and Eric. Island hikes included the lighthouse and treasure chest! After two nights there most of us proceeded to the second leg in Ganges on Salt Spring Island, BC, hosted by Rob and Debbie. We had lovely dinners at the Salt Spring Inn and Moby Pub. For many of us heading back, a changed weather forecast had us leaving very early in the morning to beat the coming wind and thunderstorms. All in all a great cruise!

Our Shakedown Cruise was a success! There were 4 boats that were rafted up in Chuckanut Bay with some members hijacking rides with friends. It was a beautiful day this year!

Thanks to those who worked hard at the Opening Day breakfast and those who came to the breakfast in support of the Working Waterfront Coalition & Whatcom Maritime Heritage Museum! The proceeds will be split between these two organizations.

We have the following results to share: 150 breakfasts were sold. The breakfast sales were $1408.00 which includes $38 coffee only sales and $40 from the SYC swap meet tables. The raffle sales ladies who had way too much fun, sold $376 in tickets. All of these figures are the best we've had since 2019!

Notice to members of the Princess Louisa International Society, PNW Boaters, & friends of the inlet

Temporary access interruption – Chatterbox Falls Moorage Facilities -Swíwelát, Princess Louisa Inlet

Princess Louisa Provincial Marine Park

To facilitate Phase 1 of infrastructure improvements at Princess Louisa Provincial Marine Park, specifically at the Chatterbox Falls location, work will be undertaken to replace the pier and the two sections of the main dock facilities. As we understand at this time, access to the park via the dock and ramp will be unavailable for a period of approximately fourteen (14) days at some point between May 19 to June 4, 2026, while this work is completed. The park itself will remain open, however boaters will not be able to access the park from the dock. At this time, it is our understanding that most of the main dock facilities are expected to remain available during the construction period for moorage only; however, this may change depending on project requirements and safety considerations. Members and visitors are strongly encouraged to check the BC Parks website for Princess Louisa Marine Park for the most current information regarding closures, access updates, and project timelines. http://www.bcparks.ca/princess-louisa-marine-park/ before planning any trips to the Inlet. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as these important infrastructure improvements are completed.

In addition, work will be conducted on the mooring buoys at both Chatterbox Falls and Macdonald Island April 30 - May 2. During this period, boaters may be required to temporarily relocate to facilitate these repairs for a few hours.
