Used Wenonah Aurora Royalex Canoe - $1,100

The Aurora is one of Wenonah’s most versatile canoes. It’s stable on flat water, so it works as a do-all family boat, and it’s capable on moving water and light whitewater too. It handles wind and waves well and keeps good freeboard when loaded.

This one is Royalex, a tough, forgiving material that isn’t made anymore. It’s 16 feet long, 36 inches wide, and weighs in the low 60s in pounds. It was always stored indoors and is in great condition. It comes with Werner paddles.

A new Aurora runs about $2,200 today.

Used Wenonah Escapade Canoe

You don’t see many Wenonah Escapades in the Pacific Northwest. Back East, people drool over them. This one has the black aluminum trim and the upgraded tractor seats, which are a lot nicer to sit in than standard canoe seats.

It’s a 16’6” canoe in Wenonah’s Flex-Core Tuf-Weave layup and weighs 57 pounds. Wenonah builds its canoes in Winona, Minnesota, and they hold up for decades.

Condition: Like new. A couple of scuffs and nothing else.

Join Susan Conrad at the shop as she zips through the highlights of her 78-day solo paddle from Washington to Sitka. Marathon days on the water, surprise friendships in far-flung places, awkward standoffs with grizzlies, and the ongoing quest to stay upright, optimistic, and un-eaten. She’ll also spotlight BC’s proposed Marine Protected Areas in the Great Bear Rainforest and pay homage to expedition-paddling legend Audrey Sutherland.

Susan is a long-distance adventure kayaker, Explorers Club National Fellow, and certified dark chocolate addict. She’s written three books about paddling the Inside Passage and is working on her fourth.

Armchair adventure at its finest. No dry suit required.

This Friday at Dragonfly: rings made from plastic found on Bellingham beaches 🌊

Victoria Cassar of Trové turns ocean plastic from our local shorelines into one-of-a-kind jewelry, and they’re bringing their work to the shop for First Friday.

Come watch Vic in action, browse her pieces, and hang out with our resident artists. Want one of your own? Pick out your favorite ocean-plastic colors and she’ll make you a custom ring on the spot.

Only 5 custom rings that night, so come early!

While we’re calling it a wrap on our guiding season, there is still plenty of summer left to get out and enjoy!

Come shop our selection of new and used kayaks and gear, ask us about kayak or paddle board rentals, check out our curated selection of pre-loved lifestyle clothing or just come by the shop and keep me company!

Off season shop hours are Thursday-Saturday 11-6 and Sunday 11-5. While we do our best to be in the shop during these hours, it never hurts to give us a shout if you’re making a special trip over as sometimes we’re out doing a demo or teaching a class.
