What an incredible day aboard Jersey Girl!

This morning we had the honor of hosting Rita from OceanFirst Bank in Point Pleasant and a wonderful group from Next Step, an adult day program serving autistic adults and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. When Rita helped us finance our new engines, I promised that once the boat was back on the water, I’d bring the Next Step group out for a complimentary whale and dolphin watching trip. Today, we were able to keep that promise.

The ocean delivered an experience none of us will ever forget. We saw dolphins, whales, and then, out of nowhere, a humpback whale launched completely out of the water in a spectacular full breach just about 20 feet from the boat. It happened so quickly that our security cameras captured the passengers’ reactions better than the whale itself—but honestly, that’s what made it so special. The excitement, laughter, and amazement on everyone’s faces said it all. A breach that close to the boat is something you simply don’t see on every trip.

A huge thank you to the Friendly Sons of the Shillelagh of Belmar for providing pizza for everyone after the trip. The weather couldn’t have worked out better—the sun stayed with us the entire morning, and just after lunch was finished, the rain arrived. It was almost as if Mother Nature waited until the perfect day was complete.

Experiences like today also remind us that Jersey Girl is much more than a whale watching boat. Thanks to our new high-speed engines, we can create custom private charters throughout the region.

🌊 This is the trip we’ve been waiting all season to run.

Monday, July 20, the Jersey Girl heads offshore for an 8-hour adventure into the blue water in search of multiple humpback whales, pelagic seabirds, dolphins, sea turtles, and whatever else the Atlantic decides to surprise us with.

With our brand-new high-speed engines, we’ll spend more time where the wildlife is and less time getting there.

These offshore trips are rare, the weather has to cooperate, and once the boat is full, that’s it. There won’t be another opportunity like this every week.
