Another Monday and another mentionable, one may call it...EPIC, trip of our Travel Chalet Staff's Summer Travels Recap Series.

Trip 3: Corey at Universal Studios in Orlando; Epic Universe

Corey's Summary:
- Arrived in Orlando in the evening and went to the Park the next day before my flight out. This was a good way to maximize my time; I thought... I wish I would have stayed longer to really explore everything Epic Universe had to offer, but I was glad to get the early access by staying at Stella Nova and do what I did!
-Stella Nova was a fun and creative hotel. The beds were comfortable, nice showers, an arcade, workout room, descent food for the price point (much cheaper than in the park or restaurants in the area), had a merch store - so you can buy some things there instead of in the Park (like the Super Nintendo Land wristband for example), pool area, shuttle service to the park throughout the day, and more.
- Nintendo World is an interactive area that you can use a wristband to engage in activities and store your 'coins' and have access to certain parts of the World. You'll need to purchase the wristband separately (will be sold at your on-site hotel) and download the Universal app to sign into your account and get updates. The wristband can used in various spots throughout Nintendo World.
- I also went to Harry Potter's "Ministry of Magic" and Dark Universe, I'd recommend both!

Some tips and tricks:
-Stay on sight (there are plenty of hotel options), you get early access and even then lines may be long but you'll beat the larger main crowd. I'd recommend bee lining to the place you'd like to go to first and wait in line there.
- Get the Express Pass! - This is an absolute must if you don't want to spend most of your time in lines like I did. They also have a 'singles' line for some rides (you will be placed with people you don't know). They do close them off when there are too many people in the main line and express line - so, don't rely on them too much.
- Go during the dry season, EPIC Universe is mostly outdoors and will shut down attractions in the rain.
- Stay for a few days, there is a lot to see and do, you will need some time to really explore and do everything.
- Buy your Nintendo World wristband at your on-site Hotel so you don't have to waste time in the Park at one of the shops trying to get one.
- Bring your own empty water bottle (security at gate entrance will do checks), there are filling stations throughout the park

Traveling through Thursday with timeless memories of travel time... turning to tell you tales of part 'D' of trip #2 of our Travel Chalet Staff's Summer Travels Recap Series.

Trip 2, Part D: Corey in Europe; Paris & London (Stonehenge)

Corey's Summary:
- Booked tickets to a 3 day music festival at the Space Museum (was lots of fun and had lots of walking and dancing) and decided to explore some of the landmark attractions of Paris. Went to the Louvre (there's SO much more than just the Mona Lisa!), Arc De Triumph (if you want to go in it - you need to take the underground passage and pay), Eiffel Tower (the park nearby is great for a picnic), and Catacombs (brace yourself for a LOT of bones).
- Headed to London after Paris via train with a mission for Stonehenge. Almost didn't make it to Stonehenge (it's a jaunt from London) due to record high temperature messing with the track sensors, but determination (and help from a sweet lady with connections to the only taxi in a town) got me there :)
To head to the main station to get to the airport, I hopped on a boat straight from my accommodation to the train station - a neat way to end the trip and see some of London from the Thames River.

Happy Mid-week! Time to see part 'C' of trip #2 of our Travel Chalet Staff's Summer Travels Recap Series.

Trip 2, Part C: Corey in Europe; Munich, Germany & Strasbourg, France

Corey's Summary:
- Upon arrival in Munich, I went through Karlstor (medieval city gate) to Neuhauser Straße (a pedestrian only zone - part of Old Town) where I saw unique buildings and went up a cathedral tower to overlook the town. I then went to various parks (some have Nudist areas - so be mindful of that), found lots of geese and squirrels with cool ears, and a standalone 'surfing' zone along one of the rivers!
- Next, I went to Strasbourg as a pit stop and to explore the city. Strasbourg is right on the border with Germany and is one of the "most German cities in France". I found buildings along the river that reminded me of Amsterdam, ate lots of baked goods, went to a underground wine museum (they had wine in barrels dating back to 1472!), did some wine tasting (not of anything that old though 🙃) and walked around to visit little shops.

Tuesday Twos coming up with the second part of our Travel Chalet Staff's Summer Travels Recap Series.

Trip 2, Part B: Corey in Europe; Luxemburg and Liechtenstein

Corey's Summary:
- Arrived to Luxembourg via coach bus which was quite comfortable. I proceeded to walk around to take in the collage of architecture, explored the underground tunnels of the city, tried local honey, and enjoyed walks along the river.
- I then traveled to Liechtenstein, a tiny country between Switzerland and Germany. I stayed just north of Vaduz where I was surrounded by beautiful mountain scenery. Of course I needed to go up a mountains somewhere and do a hike. A hike near the top provided nice views of the city and I got to see sheep along the way. There was even still snow! Just like Switzerland, Liechtenstein is a popular skiing destination.
I got to experience their 100 year fair and Futbol/Football (soccer) celebration for Vaduz FC in the city central plaza (from winning this past season they bump up into the Brack Super League - highest league in Switzerland and only Club in the league not in Switzerland), and I walked to Switzerland on a cool old wooden pedestrian bridge.

Happy Monday!
Nothing mundane here reminiscing about Netherlands and Belgium! Time for another trip with Corey with the Travel Chalet Staff's Summer Travels Recap Series.

Trip 2, Part A: Corey in Europe; Netherlands and Belgium

Corey's Summary:
- Started in Amsterdam where I enjoyed biking, walking along the canals, going out at night, ate at small cafes, and went to the Anne Frank House. Went to The Hague for some great beach time, more biking, international food, and live music.
- I then went to Brussels, Belgium where I got to see some of the famous Bluebell Belgium flowers bloom at a nice big park (but was a little late in the season - fun fact, they only bloom for about 2 weeks out of the year!), and walked around to sightsee castles and cathedrals.

Our staff has been busy this summer with some incredible traveling! Follow along for the Travel Chalet Staff's Summer Travels Recap Series. We'll go on a journey together through all the places our staff went starting with...

Trip 1: Corey's trip to Punta Cana's Dreams Cap Cana Resort in Dominican Republic! 🌴

Corey's summary:
Dreams Cap Cana Resort & Spa was purchased in 2024 by Hyatt and used to be a Margaritaville; there's still remnants of that today, which makes this Dreams Resort unique!

Fast notes: All the food was delicious; especially fruit and desserts 🍨, Beds were quite comfortable, Pool spaces were good sized and enjoyable, swim up bar was descent, live shows were fun but warm in the theater (bring a fan and wear breathable clothes!), the on site beach was the most disappointing thing; however, you can walk about 5-7 minutes down the beach to use another resort's beach (owned by the same company) and you may even get to see some unique birds along the way 🙂, El Dorado Waterpark was a blast!, spa massages were very relaxing, and service members/staff were very friendly.

Other notes: They are still working on making it a more inclusive Resort for families, so there will be some changes in the future to cater to that! Right now it's popular among groups, young parents with younger kids (under 5), and parents with adult kids.

Had a blast at Tiny Tots this past weekend! Was so fun to see all the kiddos and families, play some games, and give them some prizes! 🥰
