Shortly after getting married, we quit our comfortable jobs, booked an absurdly cheap flight to Colombia, and left behind everything that didn’t fit into our backpacks.

Our wanderings have since taken us to South Korea where we taught English for a year. In our other travels, we have backpacked in SE Asia and Eastern Europe, became temporary ski bums in Washington state, and road tripped in a converted campervan through the Western US.

Happy Halloween from a “purple baby alien”, the galaxy, the moon… and an alien who’s having an identity crisis & refuses to wear her antenna 😅

I love taking Juniper’s idea for what she wants to dress as & turning them into a whole family costume (as long as she will let me!)

Anyone who knows me knows I LOVE Halloween & have an ongoing note on my phone with costume ideas.

Oh, and I’m kind of obsessed with matching/family costumes (& will be doing that as long my girls let me!).

Another thing about me if I love a good DIY costume with thrifted items or things laying around the house. Some of our costumes have literally been made of trash (see slide 10 🤭

Just wanted to compile these pictures for myself & to show that your costume doesn’t have to be Pinterest-perfect to be super fun & memorable!

THE WITCHES ARE BACK 🧙🔮✨ the annual witch paddle is my favorite Halloween tradition in Bend. We’ve watched it from the bridge for years but finally got on the water last year!

📍Old Mill District, Bend

Rating everything we ate in Germany 🇩🇪🥨🍺 (the good & the bad 👀)

🍖 Braised pork cheeks (Schweinebäckchen) 🦴 Pork knuckle (Schweinshaxe) 🧀 Käsespätzle (egg noodles with cheese & crispy onions)
🥔 Potato dumplings (Klöße) 🥩 Schnitzel 
🌭 Eat the local sausage wherever you are, because every region has its own. Here are some 👇🏼  -Thüringer Rostbratwurst (Thuringia)  -Nürnberger Bratwurst (Nuremberg)  -Weisswurst (Bavaria)  -Currywurst (Berlin)

🍰 Germany does cake well! Sample as many as you can!
