The San Francisco Bay Area Water Trail Program (Water Trail) will support a planned network of access sites that allow people in non-motorized small boats to safely enjoy San Francisco Bay through single and multiple-day trips.

Starting October 1st, SF families can start enjoying the panoramic views of the SF Bay, East Bay Hills, and San Bruno Mountains from six new campsites at Candlestick Point State Recreation Area! Thank you to Literacy for Environmental Justice and California State Parks for giving the families of San Francisco the opportunity for meaningful camping experiences right here in the City by the Bay.

Bring your kayak, canoe, or paddleboard and join the Water Trail on an approximately 3 hour excursion along Montezuma and tributary sloughs. Explore the waterways of the Suisun Marsh, with opportunities to view otters, seals, turtles, cormorants, and egrets.

The event is part of the Visions of the Wild Film Festival, celebrating 50 years of the National Trails System and Wild and Scenic Rivers.
