Here is a quick look at how we're celebrating America's 250th:

🎺 9:00 AM: The morning kicks off with our annual Community Parade through town!
👉 Insider Tip: The parade judges will be sitting over by the VFW this year. 👋🇺🇸

🌳 10:30 AM: The celebration moves over to Lions Park for a full afternoon of non-stop family fun, including:
🎨 The beautiful Community Mural Unveiling, Benson Clean and Beautiful
🚒 The legendary Annual Fire Department Water Fights
🎯 The highly anticipated Co****le Tournament
🎤 Live performances by Nightlife Band, Triple Shot Band, Mariachi Alegre Band
🍉 The messy, fun Watermelon Eating Contest
📣 Fantastic performances by the Benson Bobcats Cheer & Dance team, and the Benson HS Alumni Band.
🍔 Plus a park full of amazing food and craft vendors!

🚀 8:30 PM: Wrap up the perfect day with our spectacular Fireworks Display, followed by live music by Sunset Red and dancing under the stars! 🌌💃🎸

It is going to be an absolutely unforgettable day of making beautiful memories right here in Benson. Grab your lawn chairs, invite your neighbors, and let's celebrate together!

This Friday is a little different! Benny the Cavern Bat is getting super excited about celebrating America's 250th Independence Day, and he wants to know how you celebrate!

Please note that our upcoming "Desert Tracking Course" for the kids has a new date!

Originally scheduled for tomorrow (June 19th), the class has been rescheduled to Tuesday, June 30th.

The time and location will stay exactly the same!

Want to join the fun? We still have openings!
If your child wants to learn all about tracking our amazing local wildlife, there is still time to sign up for the new date! Here is how to register:

🤠 Benson Then and Now: A Cattle Scene from 1906 🪵📜
Today, we are looking back exactly 120 years with this incredible vintage photo titled, "A Cattle Scene From Benson," taken all the way back in 1906.

Photos like this are so special because they invite us to slow down and truly dream of what life was like in yesteryear. If you look closely, you can almost hear the scene coming to life: the cattle raising a vocal protest as dinner hour draws near, the soft, low mooing as they move around the wooden pens, and the voices of ranch hands calling out to one another over the dust.

It makes you think back to those simpler times in the San Pedro Valley. Times when neighbors would show up completely unannounced on the wide porch but were always welcomed with open arms. Inside the home, lace curtains would dance in the breeze of the open windows, passing through thick adobe walls that kept the desert heat at bay while everyone eagerly waited for cooler days.

In a scene like this, the everyday ranch smells of dust and leather mingled perfectly with the comforting aroma of steak and potatoes cooking on the stove.
