We took a private charter out for rockfish today. Fish bit great for us. 8 anglers landed 80 rockfish and 16 lingcod for full limits with a few in the crew. Featherjigs tipped with anchovies worked the best today for rockfish. We are catching jack smelt while we’re out there on sabikis and dropping those down for lingcod.

Salmon season doesn’t open up until Tuesday so we’ve been fishing lots of shallow water lingcod and rockfish. Our group landed 30 lingcod and 270 rockfish and 1 halibut on a shrimp fly rig. The lingcod bite has been consistent, a fish per rod to limits every trip and we’ve been catching limits of rockfish every trip. Solid Lingcod fishing today on the coast! There was wind up north but the seas stayed flat for us with a small wind chop. Rockfish bit wide open for us. Our 22 person charter had fun pulling in 220 rockfish and 22 lingcod. We are offering more rockfish trips in September and October. Shark fishing started slow this morning but we got into wide open 7 gill in the afternoon. Caught limits of good size eaters and released a couple of cows around 200lbs. We are going out tomorrow for more shark and we are fishing more live bait lingcod this weekend. Lingcod have been wide open for us lately.
