On this day, July 12, 2015, The Magic of Disney Animation at Disney’s Hollywood Studios permanently closed. For more than 25 years, this beloved attraction allowed guests to get a behind-the-scenes peek at Disney animation, with a Disney animator showing them how the characters in animated films were chosen and designed. During its early years, real Disney animators worked inside the building on films like Mulan, Lilo & Stitch, and Brother Bear.
This summer, an updated version of the attraction will reopen, becoming part of the Disney Animation Studios Building in the new land, The Walt Disney Studios.
