If you are planning to come play in the snow - Chains or traction devices are required for all vehicles accept four-wheel/all-wheel drive vehicles with snow tread tires. ALL drivers coming to the mountains in the winter must carry chains or traction devices regardless of road conditions as weather can change rapidly. If there is a check point, highway patrol will turn you around if you don't have chains. For current road conditions click on the link - http://www.bigbearlake.net/road-conditions
