Dear Apple,

Who approved this? 🦞

That’s a Maine lobster.

It has claws.

Ours does not.

Every July, hundreds of thousands of Floridians hit the water for spiny lobster, and every one of us has to lie in our texts.

“Look what I caught! 🦞”

No. You didn’t.

You caught a clawless, antenna-heavy legend with a tail worth fighting over—not a Boston seafood mascot.

Imagine Texans with only a horse for cows.

Dogs represented only by Chihuahuas.

New Yorkers using a palm tree for Central Park.

That’s us.

Emoji discrimination.

We’re not trying to replace the Maine lobster. It earned its claws.

We just want representation for Florida’s clawless icon.

Apple, do the right thing.

Give us a Florida Spiny Lobster emoji.

Until then, every 🦞 in Florida is cultural appropriation.
