Whether you’ve cruised before or have never taken a cruise, I will now give a shameless plug for Princess. Just finished my second voyage and I was blown away by the helpfulness and kindness of the staff. I traveled with my aunt who has some mobility issues and she was looked after from start to finish. Even more, Princess has great food and entertainment, with itineraries across the globe. I would love to set you up with a great trip. Things are already booking to up for 2025 and beyond. Not sure who needs to hear this, but I just thought of another quick thing I wanted to post about travel. Everything won’t be perfect. No matter how well you plan and choose your travel package. Can you still have an amazing experience? Absolutely! But tempering expectations will make you much more able to ride the inevitable bumps in the road. The trip I’m on has certainly had some less than wonderful moments, but I’m making great memories and lots has been superb. Life is messy. Travel anyway!! ([email protected] or 205-826-7533).

Took a bus tour of Halifax, Nova Scotia. Fascinating history with connections to both British and American stories. Lovely early fall day. The public gardens were gorgeous. Also saw the final resting place of dozens from the Titanic, many unidentified. Pretty sobering. But it’s true—Canadians really are genuinely friendly! There’s lots to experience and explore here. It’s always a good idea to seek unique and local treats when you travel. I had always heard of Tim Horton’s popularity in Canada. Their doughnuts and coffee did not disappoint. Got to drive through Acadia National Park in Maine today. The terrain reminded me that these hills are the northern sisters of the southern Appalachian mountains. Gorgeous! Both familiar and new.
