Business Interiors hosted our Client Services conference last week, an annual event that brings together all of BI’s project managers and client support team members.

Our incredible Project Management and Client Support teams recently leveled up their expertise right here in Birmingham. They completed a three-day and two-night deep dive into advanced training, best practices, and continuously improving standards. This dedicated time together means we’re sharpening our skills and raising the bar even higher to deliver exceptional results for our amazing clients. Our teams are energized to continue leading the way in our industry! ✨

This month, we recognize and applaud the work of Glenda McBay, who marks an incredible 28th anniversary with Business Interiors this month. Her vast experience and unwavering commitment make her an invaluable asset to our Huntsville team.

Glenda began her industry journey at Alabama Business Furnishings, eventually joining William Brown at Office Furniture Network before coming to Business Interiors in 1997.

Her versatile role as Client Services | Project Manager covers everything from customer service to comprehensive project management. From creating proposals, checking acknowledgments, scheduling installations, and preparing detailed installation packages to expertly handling backlog reports, warranty, and punch list items, as well as assisting with customer meetings, Glenda does it all.

She finds great satisfaction in seeing projects through from start to finish, especially when customers are happy with their new spaces. Glenda takes immense pride in her work, always striving for excellence, and embodying the spirit of a team player. Her consistent advice: have a strong work ethic and pay keen attention to detail.

Claudia has joined our Client Services | Support team in our Huntsville showroom. She brings a wealth of experience in administrative support, customer service, and coordination roles. Her background includes serving as an Area Administrative Coordinator for the USDA, a Support Coordinator for the Madison County 310 Board, and a Customer Service Manager at Hobby Lobby. Additionally, Claudia was an Early Education Teacher and Instructional Assistant with Onslow County Schools, and she is a U.S. Marine Corps veteran.

Completed in December 2024, the new Cooper Green Mercy Health Services building, part of the UAB Health System, provides modern, high-quality ambulatory care to all Jefferson County residents, regardless of their ability to pay. This five-story, 211,000-square-foot facility offers a range of services, including primary and specialty care clinics, urgent care, physical, occupational, and speech therapy, laboratory services, imaging, and a pharmacy.

Business Interiors, selected by the Owner/Architect/Contractor group, collaborated with Gresham Smith, the A+D firm, from the beginning of the 24-month furniture selection process. This collaboration involved multiple healthcare manufacturer showroom visits for product evaluation. The BI team provided ongoing budget updates as Gresham Smith firm developed its product and finish selections.

The project scope included furnishing solutions for all areas of the facility: primary and specialty care clinics, urgent care, therapy areas, laboratory and pharmacy (including specialized furniture), staff offices and workstations, an executive suite with a boardroom, community teaching classrooms (including a test kitchen), break rooms, staff lounges, mother’s rooms, clinic waiting rooms, the concourse lounge, and all other waiting areas.

The result is a stunning healthcare facility that meets the needs of its patients while highlighting that thoughtful and finely tuned design decisions are not exclusive to for-profit facilities.

Cammie has been a dedicated member of our team for nine years. What she loves most is being involved in creating beautiful, well-planned spaces that make people happy to work in.

Business Interiors’ unique position of representing both ALUR walls and Falkbuilt provides us with an unparalleled advantage: the flexibility to combine these systems into a single solution that capitalizes on the beauty, capabilities, and cost-efficiencies of both.

In a portion of our Birmingham showroom, we have recently integrated single-glazed glass fronts with solid DuraFalk dividing walls.

Within this display, we’re showcasing ALUR glass walls with various hardware options and both swing and sliding door types, where 18” nib walls beautifully accentuate the glass. Complementing these are the demising Falk walls, which allow for extensive customization of panels and joint layout, numerous finish options, and seamless integration of electrical and technology.

When it comes to installation, every Falk wall component is prefabricated in their controlled warehouse, including pre-cut header and shoe tracks. Only the verticals are cut on-site during assembly. This prefabrication precision is thanks to Falkbuilt’s Digital Component Construction, which combines proven interior construction methods with next-generation technology to ensure quick and clean wall installations. For ALUR, all verticals, headers, and shoe tracks are cut on-site to expedite material procurement, and the simplicity of the system makes installation a breeze.

Anna joins us with over ten years of experience in the design and construction industry, bringing a robust background. Her roles at Remmert & Company and BLOX allowed her to hone expertise in project management, material sourcing, and developing interior solutions. Coupled with her time as an Interior Designer at Davis Architects and her design-focused education from Samford University, Anna will be a significant asset in serving our clients.
