If you’ve been around here for a while, you probably know I’m not an animal person (gasp…I know). My hands are full enough keeping my children alive, fed, cared for, and picked up after. But per usual…one of those said children has been begging for another animal…and per usual…her dad caved. So, here we are. 🤪

A common misconception…especially when I’m traveling.

With this little BTS peek, you can see I don’t live in my DMs the way travel influencers do. Despite my best effort, most of the time when I get random DMs from people requesting personalized help or worse…emergency requests when they’re in a panic, the truth is…I’m typically at this desk helping clients and don’t see your message until after you’ve needed the answer. 😢

That is THE biggest difference between following me on social media and hiring me as your travel agent.

Can you tell how much I love resort fan pages on Facebook? 😬 No lie…every single one of these things (and more) were massive concerns for many travelers on these pages while I was gone.

Don’t get me wrong, some issues are legit and can put a dent in your trip, but others…🙃🙃🙃.

One final photo to wrap up this vacation…and in my best Snoop voice…”I wanna thank me (us)” for pulling this vacation off.

9 days across two parts of Mexico took a lot of planning. Rob spearheaded Mexico City (after I got my bougie hotel booked 💅🏼) while I tackled the Disney World of all resorts in Mexico…Hotel Xcaret. (Side note: if you plan to go there without the slightest hint of a plan, think again. And if you need a pro…I know one who can help! 😉)

I have a handful of topics that need a little more explanation, so be on the lookout for that content in the coming weeks! 🇲🇽

Seeing these guys flying around today brought tears to my eyes. 🥹

The first time I saw scarlet macaws flying free was in Costa Rica. I remember looking out the window of our rental car, completely amazed, wondering what in the world I was seeing. The birds looked familiar, but I couldn’t quite place them.

Then it hit me…I had only ever seen these birds in movies. And there I was, riding down Ruta 34, watching them soar overhead just as I see crows flying around back home.

It’s one of those travel moments I’ll never forget. The kind that reminds me how incredible our world really is and why experiencing it firsthand is so much more powerful than seeing it on a screen. 🦜❤️🌎

FYI: although scarlet macaws aren’t native to this part of Mexico, Xcaret has a great conservation program that works to reintroduce flocks to parts of Mexico where they are native.
