Happy New Year Friends!!
I would have LOVED time to create one of those cute "end up year wrap ups" showing off the amazing getaways that my clients have experienced this year. But alas - instead - I've been head down managing endless flight delays, cancellations, moving trips due to medical emergencies, and now battling a sh*tstorm in the Caribbean. So don't be surprised if you see a 2025 wrap up in February.....or November.🤣

TRAVEL UPDATE — PLEASE READ IF YOU’RE FLYING SOON ✈️
Here’s the short version of what’s happening:
There’s major military activity impacting Venezuela, and as a result:
• Venezuelan airspace is mostly closed
• Airlines are rerouting flights
• That’s causing delays and cancellations all over the Caribbean + U.S. hubs
• Even trips nowhere near Venezuela are being affected
There’s no clear timeline yet for when things fully settle.

✈️ If you’re traveling soon
• Expect possible delays or cancellations
• Routes through big hubs (like Miami) are especially impacted
• Flexibility this week is really important
If you’re unsure how this affects your trip, ask — don’t guess.

🚨 If you’re traveling right now
• Keep an eye on your flight using airline apps, Flighty, or flightaware
• If you have a confirmed flight, go to the airport unless told otherwise
• Delays can turn into departures quickly
• If a flight is canceled, airlines can usually only rebook you on the next available option
⚠️ Voluntarily canceling = flight credit (usually), but insurance typically won’t cover it unless the airline cancels first

• Check your airline app daily
• Talk to your travel advisor before making changes
• Review your insurance carefully — coverage for situations like this is very limited and policy-specific (we have no Idea what will be covered right now- if this is considered an “act of war”)
