Before you pull out of the rental lot, take a quick photo of the dashboard.

The image will capture important details like the fuel level, mileage, date and time, and any warning lights that may already be illuminated. If questions arise when you return the vehicle, you'll have a time-stamped record of the car's condition when you picked it up.

It only takes a few seconds, but it can help prevent confusion over fuel charges, mileage discrepancies, or pre-existing vehicle issues later on.

Flight disruptions aren’t the exception anymore – they’re part of modern travel.

At our Spring Travel Education Forum, Delia Oviedo, Director of Duty of Care Technology at Magnatech Travel Management Solutions, shared an important reminder: duty of care isn’t just a response strategy – it’s a foundational part of any successful travel program.

From delays and cancellations to unexpected disruptions, preparedness, communication, and traveler support have never been more critical. This clip highlights why organizations must be ready to help travelers navigate the realities of today’s travel landscape with confidence and care.

Your suitcase already has a built-in organization hack.

Instead of tossing worn clothes back in with everything else, use the zippered liner section to separate them throughout your trip. It helps keep the rest of your bag organized without adding extra packing gear.

This Memorial Day, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

Their sacrifices have made so much of what we enjoy today possible.

As many of us begin our summer travels and gather with family and friends this weekend, we hope everyone has a safe, meaningful, and restful holiday.

Today’s tip is designed to help you travel smarter with less bulk.

A frozen sponge tucked into a zip bag can keep snacks, drinks, or medication chilled through your travel day without taking up much space in your bag.

Even better, once it melts, you’ve still got something useful on hand for quick cleanups, wiping down surfaces, or freshening up shoes after a long day on the move.

Simple, reusable, and surprisingly handy!

If even the tiniest sliver of hotel room light keeps you awake, here’s a simple trick: use the clips from the closet hangers to clamp the curtains fully shut.

Many hotel rooms leave a gap right in the center seam, but a couple of hanger clips can make sure your blackout curtains are working to their full potential.

It’s one of those tiny travel hacks that makes a surprisingly big difference – especially when you’re adjusting to a new time zone, trying to catch up on sleep, or recovering after a long travel day.

Use your phone’s “Notes” app as a simple travel hub.

Before your trip, create one note and drop in everything you might need on the go:
• Flight details
• Hotel addresses
• Reservation numbers
• Confirmation screenshots
• Key contacts or meeting info

It may not be fancy, but having everything in one place makes a big difference when you’re moving quickly or dealing with spotty Wi-Fi. Instead of digging through emails or apps at the airport or in a taxi, you’ll have instant access to the details that matter most.

Over the weekend, the ultralow-cost carrier Spirit Airlines halted operations amid financial problems and high fuel costs.

The airline failed to secure the critical $500 million funding bailout from the U.S. federal government. Spirit said it will begin processing refunds for upcoming flights directly to traveller’s credit cards. Other U.S. airlines are offering “capped” and/or reduced fares to Spirit Airline passengers over the next several days.

Travelers with upcoming trips should contact Travel One for alternate options or assistance in obtaining a refund.

Build buffers into your flight strategy for important trips.

Choosing an earlier flight – rather than the last one of the day – gives you built-in flexibility if something goes wrong. Delays and cancellations are part of travel, but earlier departures often come with backup options. Later flights don’t.

For travelers, this small shift can mean the difference between arriving the same day or getting stuck overnight.

For travel managers, encouraging this approach helps protect schedules, reduce disruption, and keep business moving – especially on high-priority trips.

A smarter itinerary isn’t always the cheapest one – it’s the one that keeps you on track.
