Alright all you Klamath and Trinity river salmon anglers, your help is needed. We’re hearing again that fish managers may try to shift king salmon out of the Klamath river fishery to create opportunity for the ocean fishery due to the low numbers of SONCC coho. If this happens, it could seriously impact — or even gut — our Klamath/Trinity fishery.
Many of us haven’t been able to fish for Chinook in three years. If you care about protecting your river opportunity and your full 15% allocation of harvestable surplus, now is the time to speak up.
👉 Please submit a public comment under Agenda Item C3 on the PFMC website. The deadline is 5pm on 3/3/26.
👉 Clearly state that you support maintaining your Klamath/Trinity fishery and your full 15% allocation of harvestable surplus.
👉 Let them know you’ve already sacrificed seasons and want your river fishery protected.
We need at least 10–12 strong comments from Klamath/Trinity anglers. If we stay silent, decisions will be made without us.
