I’d like to thank our parents, sponsors, guides and participants for another successful season w the Northern Forest Explorers! We ran 5 separate programs, with a total of 58 participants, in the Adirondacks and Maine. 3 of our Junior guides were past NFE participants, so we are passing along all of the fun and knowledge! We couldn’t do it without the help of our many sponsors, including Northern Forest Canoe Trail , the long lake association, the long lake fish and game club, the long lake lions club, Raquette River Outfitters , Adirondack Mountain Outfitters, and Scott Fuller . Great season, great paddlers, great fun!

A dazzling morning on Tupper Lake with the Northern Forest Explorers. This group of 9 paddlers aged 10-13 went fast, going far past our usual long lake to the crusher take out to camp up at this lovely site at raquette pond. So 40 miles total in 5 days rather than the normal 25. Honored to co-guide with Leena Keal, who last traveled these waters with me 8 years ago when she herself was a participant. Once an Explorer, always an Explorer!
