The Town Where the Dead Have Their Own Mailbox
What if you could write a letter to someone who never actually existed and get an answer?
Every year, thousands of letters arrive in Verona, Italy, addressed simply to "Juliet, Verona."
They're written to Shakespeare's Juliet by people around the world asking for advice about love, heartbreak, and relationships.
And remarkably, many receive an answer.
A group of volunteers known as Juliet's Club reads and responds to the letters, continuing a tradition that has lasted for decades. Visitors can even stop by Juliet's House, where the courtyard has become a pilgrimage site for romantics.
Juliet may have been fictional, but the hopes and heartaches arriving in her mailbox are very real.
If you were going to write a letter to any historical or fictional person for advice, who would it be?
Mine wouldn't be Juliet. Mine would be Job. :) I already talk to Jesus every day.
