🌷 Keukenhof 🌷

Walking through 32 acres of tulips in every color imaginable is simply breathtaking. This is one of those places that has to be seen in person to truly be believed!

Here are a few fun facts:

🌷 Over 7 million flower bulbs are planted by hand every autumn — just for an 8-week season!

🌷 There are 800 different tulip varieties on display.

🌷 The name “Keukenhof” means kitchen garden — it originally grew fruits and vegetables for a countess’s castle back in the 1400s!

🌷 The first tulips were brought to the Netherlands way back in 1594 by botanist Carolus Clusius.

This is exactly the kind of once-in-a-lifetime experience I love curating for my clients. Spring in the Netherlands is pure magic — and I’d love to help you experience it for yourself! 🌸

Kinderdijk, Netherlands - Windmills, water, and a whole lot of wonder. 🌬️

Did you know that a large portion of the Netherlands sits below sea level? The Dutch engineered their way around it. The iconic windmills at Kinderdijk weren’t just pretty landmarks — they were (and still are) sophisticated pumping systems, working to push water up and keep the land dry enough to live on.

And the families who operated them actually lived inside the windmills. These hardworking millers called them home — raising families, running the pumps, and keeping their communities safe from flooding.

One more thing — the birds here are king because they have no natural predators in the area. They roam and nest completely unbothered.

Kinderdijk is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and I completely understand why.

If the Netherlands is on your bucket list — or if you’ve never even considered it — let’s talk. I’d love to help you plan a trip that includes moments like this. ✈️

Antwerp 🇧🇪

I explored the city in an e-carriage — think classic carriage charm, but electric! As an animal lover, I appreciate that I can soak up the romance without worrying about the horses. 🐴💚

This city is deeply Catholic. Mary, the Lady Madonna, is Antwerp’s patron saint, and her presence is everywhere. The stunning Cathedral of Our Lady soars 123 meters into the sky, and out of respect, nothing in Antwerp is allowed to be built taller. 🕍

Scattered throughout the city are 170 little statues of Mary just within the city center — and over 1,000 throughout all of Antwerp. I kept spotting them tucked into corners as I wandered. There are also 100 churches across the city — faith is literally woven into the architecture here.

Then there’s the Diamond District — glittering storefronts as far as the eye can see. 💎

Antwerp is layered, historic, and completely fascinating. Thinking about adding it to your European itinerary? Let’s chat — I’d love to help you plan it! ✈️

An afternoon in Bruges, Belgium — a UNESCO World Heritage city✨

It’s about an hour and a half from the river cruise port, but the ride is worth it. This medieval city feels like stepping into a fairytale — weeping willows trailing into the canals, four ancient city gates still standing and in use today, and swans gliding across the water just as they have since the 15th century. 🦢

And the waffles? Absolutely divine!

Bruges is one of those places I’ll be recommending to clients. If a river cruise brings you anywhere near Belgium — this is your non-negotiable day trip. 🧇🌿

What a day I will never forget. 🧡

This morning I explored Arnhem on a walking tour — this city has LAYERS!

Did you know Audrey Hepburn spent part of her childhood here? We also paused at Tripping Stones — small brass memorials embedded in the sidewalk to remember Jewish families taken during WWII — and learned about the dramatic WWII Operation Market Garden that was fought here.

Then the city completely came alive for Koningsdag — King Willem-Alexander’s birthday! Everyone in orange, live music, and the most genuine, warm-hearted locals!

A picture says a thousand words, and this one is my favorite from today. Pure joy. 🎉

If the Netherlands isn’t on your travel list yet — it needs to be. I would LOVE to help plan your trip! Reach out anytime. 🌷
