Here’s my go-to tip for re-entering the U.S.: Mobile Passport Control (MPC) — it’s a free app that lets eligible U.S. citizens and Canadian visitors submit their passport and customs info right from their phone BEFORE they even reach the CBP officer. 📱

Here’s why I love it:

✅ 100% free (beware of copycat paid apps!)

✅ No pre-approval or application needed — just download and go

✅ Available at 30+ major U.S. airports and cruise ports

✅ Cuts your wait time dramatically — sometimes down to minutes

✅ Works for the whole family, so you can submit everyone’s info together
How it works: Once you land, open the app, snap a selfie, answer the customs questions, and submit. You’ll get a receipt with a barcode — head to the MPC lane, show your passport and that code, and you’re through. No more standing behind three flights’ worth of tired travelers! 😴➡️😊

A proud moment I had to share: my sister recently served as godmother for the christening of the new Amadeus Aurea in Amsterdam — a tradition that marks a ship’s official entry into service for Amadeus River Cruises. 🚢
