Supporting Our Neighbors in Southern California
The devastating Palisades Fire and others in the LA region continue to burn, with over 30,000 acres scorched, 10,000+ structures destroyed, and minimal containment. Nearly 180,000 people remain under evacuation orders, with another 200,000 on alert and over 250,000 homes without power.
Here in Sonoma County, we know the heartbreak and resilience required in the face of wildfire disasters. Just as we’ve received support during our own crises, Sonoma County is stepping up to help our Southern California neighbors.
As of Wednesday, Sonoma County has deployed 60 firefighters and 15 engines to assist in battling these fires. Locally, we’re partnering with Sonoma County Tourism to provide discounted lodging and want to others to join in offering food, and activities like spa treatments, wine tasting, and horseback rides for those affected—offering a small moment of refuge before the rebuilding begins.
Many of our homeowners have generously approved discounted rates for evacuees and we’re coordinating with aid organizations to subsidize costs further. Guests will be vetted for qualification when they book their stay with us.
Local Businesses, if you’d like to help, join us in offering special discounts or services to impacted guests. Our guests will be given a list of local businesses offering and what the offer is (along with any restrictions etc.). We hope other lodging companies will join as well if they haven’t already.
