If Boise had one color, what would it be?

Rulo Luna Ramos with Matador Network recently set out to answer that question, exploring Boise through shades of blue, green, gold, copper, and purple. Familiar places took on new meaning, from the Blue Turf and Greenbelt to the foothills, Capitol, and Freak Alley.

We love seeing Boise through a fresh perspective!
💙 Blue for Boise State and the river
💛 Gold for the foothills at sunset
💚 Green for our tree-lined neighborhoods and the Greenbelt
🧡 Copper for Boise's history and architecture
💜 Purple for our arts, culture, and creativity

Tell us: what color represents Boise best?

The 35th Annual Spirit of Boise Balloon Classic is almost here! Here are some tips & tricks to help get you ready!

📅 September 2nd-6th
📍 Ann Morrison Park

Tips for Spectators:
🌟 Dress for the chilly morning - we recommend layers!
🌟 Arrive early to find parking - the park fills up quickly, so you might have to park and walk. Try to carpool and/or ride a bike if possible.
🌟 Leave your furry friends at home - the hot air balloon burners make a sound inaudible to humans but can hurt your pet’s ears.
🌟 No drones allowed, but definitely bring your camera/phone for photos!

Schedule of Events:
🎈 Wednesday: Kid’s Day @ 7:40 am
🎈 Thursday: Media Day launch @ 7:20 am
🎈 Friday: VIP Day launch @ 7:20 am and Nite Glow Spectacular festivities starting @ 5:00 pm
🎈 Saturday: Balloon launch @ 7:20 am
🎈 Sunday: Dawn Patrol inflation @ 6:00 am and launch @ 7:20 am
* All launches are weather-permitting, however they typically take place starting at around 7:20 am and last until as late as 9 a.m. You can frequently see the hot air balloons soaring over downtown Boise, with the occasional balloon falling on historic landmarks, including building rooftops, right in the middle of Broadway avenue, and even the front lawn at our Capitol building!
