Taking bookings for safaris to Tanzania and Kenya summer 2027. Seven day camping safari starts at $3,500 per adult/$3,000 per child under 17. Seven day lodging safari starts at $5,500 per adult/$4,000 per child. I can customize your safari to specific parks (Tarangire, Ngorongoro, Serengeti, Lake Manyara, Gombe Stream, Kilimanjaro, Zanzibar) or Kenya parks (Maasai Mara, Hells Gate {walking safari}, Samburu, Kakamega Forest, Kenya coast, and Aberdare Mountains). Please feel free to contact me with any questions.

Safari starts in either Nairobi or Kilimanjaro airports. I will meet you personally at the airport and transport you to Arusha, Tanzania.
Day 1: walk around Arusha with its 14,000ft Mt Meru as a backdrop and 1/2 way point between Cairo and Cape Town. Visit the local farmers market and wood carving market and spend the night in Arusha.

We typically travel from Arusha to Tarangire National Park (90 minute drive from Arusha and stop along the way to visit a Massai village and donate school supplies to students). Lodging ranges from camping to luxury tented lodges. Tarangire is known for their large elephant populations, Cape Buffalo, Lions, Leopards, zebra, ostrich, baboons, vervet monkeys, gazelle, wildebeest, hippopotamus, and lots of birds and baobab trees.

We will spend day 2 and 3 in the park (1st 5 photos)

We will travel from Tarangire to the Serengeti and spend the next 3 days exploring the Serengeti plains, forests and rivers/pools. Lodging ranges from camping to luxury tented lodges and brick-mortar lodges.

Day 7 we travel from the Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater and drive down into the crater to search for rhino, elephants, lions, and lakes teaming with wildlife. We will have lunch by the hippo pool and head back to Arusha in the late afternoon. Overnight in Arusha and fly home or extend you stay a few extra days to:

Fly to Zanzibar to explore the spice island (2-5 days)

Fly to Kigoma and hike in Gombe Stream to visit the Jane Goodall research center and hike in the forest to view chimpanzee.

With political unrest in Tanzania after the elections it is unsafe in Dar es Salaam/Zanzibar and on and off political issues in Arusha (where most safaris start and end). Because of this I am currently offering safaris in Kenya for now (Samburu, hikes on Mt. Kenya (Chagoria route), Hell’s Gate, Kakamega Forest, and Lake Nakuru. Camping, lodges or a combination of both. 5-7 day safari’s start at $1,500 a person and includes transportation, lodging (camp or lodge), food, park entry and pickup/drop off at Jomo Kenyatta airport.

Initial stages of planning a 2026 summer safari to Tanzania and Kenya. Kenya 1 and 2 day safari’s before or after the Tanzania safari include: Elephant orphanage in Nairobi, Lake Naivasha and walking safari in Hells Gate (lots of hot springs hence the name) no predators and you can walk near zebra, gazelle and through a beautiful slot canyon )the image of the area was used in “ The Lion King”.

Trip itineraries include:
7 Day Safari: Tarangire, Ngorongoro and Serengeti. Camping/Combination of Camping and Lodging/Lodging. Prices start at $3,000 for a camping safari with all food prepared by an experienced camp cook, all park fees, vehicle, and driver fees.
Upon arrival in Nairobi Jomo Kenyatta or Kilimanjaro Airport in Tanzania: I will meet you at the airport and either take you to your hotel or Airbnb for night and then to Arusha the next day. If you arrive early—that would count as day 0 on your safari itinerary. If you arive at Kilimanjaro Airport, 1 hour East of Arusha, we will spend the day exploring Arusha—that would count as day 0 on your safari itinerary.

Day 1-2: Tarangire 2 nights camping, luxury camping or lodge. Tarangire National Park is about 1 hour from Arusha and has the largest population of elephants than other parks in TZ.
Day 3: Drive to Serengeti National Park stopping at the Ngorongoro Crater overlook on the way for photo opportunities on our way to Seronera—in the center of the Serengeti. Camping or Lodges
Day 4-6 game drives in the Serengeti.
Day 7 Drive back toward Arusha stopping on the way to drive down into Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive and lunch in the crater. Arrive back in Arusha for dinner and celebrate the safari.

Planning a Tanzania Safari June 2025:
Arrive Nairobi June 15-18 (visit parks/areas of interest in and around Nairobi June 15-18 if interested.

June 19th travel to Tanzania, purchase food/supplies for the safari and overnight Arusha

June 20th-Travel to Tarangire National Park for 3 nights and 2 days in the park.
