Day 10 - Well, our America 250 Tour is in the books. We had an amazing trip with some of the greatest travelers ever. Today started in Salisbury, NC. Our traveler of the day was our “Song Bird” Ginger Golden. She blessed us with several great songs along the way. Rese shared a great devotion as we began our journey south. We had a great lunch at Culver’s in Braselton, GA, before tackling Atlanta traffic. Our super Souther Coaches bus driver, Jerry, got us trough with no problems. We did encounter an accident south of Atlanta that delayed us for about 30 minutes, which caused us to have to add an additional rest stop, but we still arrived safely back in Bonifay almost on schedule. It has been such a great trip with these wonderful travelers. The Lord kept us safe and gave us beautiful weather all the way. Wish you could have been with us. Plan to travel with us in 2027. DAY 9 - America 250 - we started out in Waynesboro Virginia. Gary Harmon was our traveler of the day. We headed straight to Monticello, Thomas Jefferson‘s home. Although we had to shift plans just a little bit due to a fire in the home yesterday, we still had an amazing visit there. So much history to be learned. We then had an unforgettable lunch at Michi’s Tavern with a little shopping time as well. Then we headed down to the beautiful mountains of Virginia for a wonderful afternoon drive. Russell Pettis shared a very faith building devotion with us as we journeyed. We arrived at our hotel in Salisbury, North Carolina, where we had a light dinner of sub sandwiches and all the fixings waiting for us. We’ve all settled into our rooms for our final night on this phenomenal tour. Sure wish you were with us.

Day 8 - America 250 - After breakfast we loaded the bus and left the Pennsylvania Amish country heading south toward Gettysburg. Our traveler of the day was Gwen Sellers. Brother Buddy Pennington shared a great devotion with us to start our day off right. We arrived at Gettysburg and saw the introductory film as well as the amazing cyclorama. We had a ver informative and moving tour with Paul our step on guide. We had lunch and then headed south through the Shenandoah Valley. The scenery and weather was beautiful. After a great meal at Texas roadhouse, where we celebrated Kenneth Capps’s 80th birthday a few days early, we have settled into our hotel in Waynesboro, VA, for the evening. Traveling with the greatest group of travelers ever. Sure wish you were here.

Day 7 – America 250 – It was a cool start to a great day. Our traveler of the day was Belinda Chitty. We had a wonderful devotion by Pastor Jeff Ulmer and an extended time of worship as we drove to Hershey PA, blessed by the beautiful fall foliage. We arrived at Hershey’s Chocolate World and loaded our trolley for a very informative tour of the city. Then we had some time to satisfy our chocoholic desires, do some shopping, and, enjoy lunch together. We headed back down to Bird in Hand where we had great Amish buggy rides. After our buggy rides, we had a wonderful meal at Plain and Fancy with family-style Amish foods. Then it was back to the hotel for our last night in Lancaster. We head back south in the morning. Day 6 - America 250 - Today was packed full of so many fun and inspiring experiences. Gary Golden was our traveler of the day. We heard a great devotion from Pastor Rodney Coleman on the promises and presence of God in our lives. Then we picked up our dear friend and guide for our tour of Lancaster County, Jane Barge. What a joy it was to have her share her extensive knowledge of the culture and practices of the Amish and Mennonite community. We visited a quilt shop, a pretzel & ice cream stand, an Amish bakery, and then the Bird In Hand Amish Market. Then it was on to Kitchen Kettle for some shopping and lunch. Our afternoon started with a ride on the Strasburg Rail Road, through some beautiful Amish farmland, all the way to Paradise, PA. Then we were off to Miller’s Smorgasbord for an unforgettable dinner. A little after dinner shopping and then we were off to Sight & Sound Theater to see their latest show, “Joshua.” There are no words to describe it! One again they have done an incredible job of bringing the Bible to live. Back at the hotel getting rested up for another big day tomorrow. Wish you were here!

Wow! Day 5 has proved to be another wonderful day! This is a great group of travelers. Our traveler of the day was Kenneth Capps. Bro. Gene Emswiler did a wonderful job sharing a devotion with us on the faithfulness of God. We then toured the Museum of the Bible in Washington DC. What an amazing experience that is. Then we followed up with a stop at the Capital to get our group picture. After that we headed off to Bird in Hand, PA. A storm was brewing on our way but it did not stop us from enjoying a wonderful buffet meal at Bird in Hand Family Restaurant. Now we are settled into our hotel at Homewood Suites in Lancaster, PA. Tomorrow promises to be another great day with temperatures in the 50’s. Sure wish you were here.

America 250 - Day 4 - After breakfast we headed out for a great day. Dan Enfinger was our Traveler of The Day! Sharron Wood won the scavenger hunt and Richard Grice was recognized as our most senior travel and Angie Pettis as our youngest.
We had a very moving morning in Arlington National Cemetery. Our friend/guide, Tom Shultz, joined us and did an amazing job sharing so much helpful information. We continued on into Washington, DC, where we visited many monuments and memorials. Thank the Lord, the rain held off until we were about to leave the Lincoln Memorial. Then it was on to an amazing dinner at Carmines! We had the awesome privilege to have both of our children join us for dinner! We are back at the hotel for some much deserved rest. America 250 - Day 3 - What a day! Pastor Gene Emswiler was our traveler of the day. We started our day in Colonial Williamsburg, VA. We had 2 great guides that took us on a beautiful and informative walking tour of one of America’s first cities. So much world changing history happened right where we were walking. After lunch we headed north to George Washington’s Mount Vernon. After a tour of the mansion we toured the grounds and the museum. Of course, we had some shopping time too. Then we had an amazing buffet dinner in our own private dining room at the Mount Vernon Inn. Soooo Good! After walking over 10,000 steps today, we are settled into our hotel in Woodbridge, VA for some well deserved rest. Wish you were here.

DAY 2 - AMERICA 250 TOUR has been amazing. Marie Brewer was our traveler of the day. She has made more tours with us than any other travel. We sure love her. The Billy Graham Library never disappoints. A great lunch and then we were off to Virginia, our sixth state so far. We had a good dinner at Cracker Barrel just outside of Richmond, before heading to our hotel in Williamsburg. Getting some rest before a full day of immersion in America’s rich history tomorrow! “AMERICA 250” Day 1 is in the books. We covered almost 500 miles, passing through 5 states as we began our 10 day journey. From our departure in Bonifay, to our first rest stop in Eufaula, AL, then on to our lunch in Newnan, GA, a rest stop at the South Carolina Welcome Center, dinner in Gastonia, NC, and finally our hotel in Charlotte NC. it has been a great day. What an amazing group of travelers we have. Congratulations Jean Horton for being our traveler of the day and to Charlie Fay Grice for winning “Guess How Many Candies.”
